You guys are to damn harsh
Yeah, he quit, and it was all his fault.
Just like HBO commentary said "it may be something he lives to regret." Well, think they were right....He already regrets it, and now he wants a rematch.
He *should* have won that fight. His corner did not help him by telling him to quit, and beating that in his brain. He shouldn't have believed it. He simply gave up...
These kind of things are what defines a fighter though, and it's good for him to go through this now, than later. he's 22 with monstrous power, and lots of fans (maybe less since his quittage though). If he comes back he's going to come back stronger, and more determined than ever. I say he probably wins a rematch, but it damn sure will not be easy.

I dont get it with people saying ortiz will win a possible re-match......the fight i saw was maidana had a better footwork, lateral movement, WAY better defense, and was more polished on fundamentals of the game....

the only thing ortiz might have over maidana is power, and that i even question....

Maidana should fight some easy ones in Argentina...live it up a little....before getting back in there with Ortiz, who needs time off to get his head together.

Sad that De La Hoya and company have opted to LIE to us. Victor didn't want any more, and they can't cover it. HBO cross faded the replay before we could see him wave his white glove again. Don't matter. We saw it the first time, carpet bagging pieces of ****.. Good try.

He knows what is required to beat this guy now, I think a rematch would be interesting and he also knows from where Mosley told him the problems were on how to correct a few things.

Fights like this can make a fighter, so long as they come back against the opponent, ala Lennox Lewis.

True dat! Besides, if he boxed a little more patiently he would probably emerge victorious.
