i think he deserves the rematch. hopefully the kid really DOES want to fight and go through these kinds of wars in order to be a champion. he certainly didn't exhibit it last night but maybe he learned a lesson. if he fights smart and boxes more i think he could win the rematch. **** he should have been able to win last night, he just ****in quit.

i think ortiz has serious talent. im just thinking what everyone else is and wondering if he has the heart and determination to be a boxer. hopefully he gets the rematch and gets another chance to show what he's really made of.

I was shocked when the ref asked if he wasnted to continue, he shook his head no and walked away, I thought, "What is this guy doing", i felt so weird watching him implode right in front of us. That being said, I was really happy to see a hard working fighter like Maidana get the win. He earned it.

This would be a huge step on the road to redeemption for Ortiz and a great way to acquit(no pun intended) himself!

Ortiz would lose the rematch, too. Maidana is a lot more crafty than given credit for.

Let them make it, the first fight was very good a rematch shouldn't be different. Perfect chance for Ortiz to get revenge or for Maidena to confirm he's the better man.

Come on!!! "i don't deserve getting beat up like this". What did you think he meant by that??? I hope he gets a rematch. He was doing good until he got caught. We don't really know if he underestimate the guy. He knock down the guy three times. So, he has a chance. But he has to decide what the hell he wants.

I think he will do better next time around but it will end up the same as the first, He deserves a rematch to prove himself.

I don't believe that Marcos Maidana has to give him a re-match I wouldn't. Ortiz could make it out of there on his feet. It was a younger fighter being broke down by an older vet.

Maidana should have a re-match with Kotelnik to clean up his record first, after that maybee Amir Khan, maybee.

Hello Guys!! Can you say "Paul Williams"? Remember how everyone thought punisher was exposed with his loss? The interesting thing about that fight is that when Paul Williams was entering the ring, I could tell he was not really there. And that is what he said. He was not focused. You could tell throughout the fight that Paul was trying to shake off the cobwebs and bring himself into the fight. Maybe it was different for Victor because he found himself in a situation where he knew it just was not his night. His corner should have coached him at that point, not tell him they were going to stop the fight. So applaud the guys who think Victor should get another trainer because that is what gets you through fights - remember "you're blowing it, kid, your blowing it...". That may have made all the difference in the world.
Victor has the skills and he knows it. He let his ego get the best of him, going for the knockout.
Victor outboxes this guy next time and redeams himself....

What did they change from the original to the replay? I only saw the replay and it seemed quittery enough for me.

Ortiz is such a happy guy. It's really hard to root against a guy like him although he may just not be able to handle real pressure in the ring at the end of the day.
