The most eye catching thing in that round was how badly Mayweather reacted to walking into that right hand, and the follow up punches. I don't even think he was hurt. There are times Mayweather moves and positions himself so smoothly and aware of his surroundings like the ATG ring general that he is, and there are a rare few others where it just looks like he's a senile old man whose lost his glasses.

Anyways, it's not black and white. I could see an argument for either man winning, but it was Ortiz's best round thus far, and Floyd was looking flustered against the ropes.

Why do people get so hot and bothered when it's suggested that Ortiz was having some good moments in the 4th?

Anyone who thinks Ortiz was winning the 4th round needs to stop watching boxing.

u dont headbutt in a round when ur WINNING lol , that was a sign of a fustration , u dont win a round when ur fustrated , plus u dont win a round where ur simply gettin outclassed .. Floyd 4 Ortiz 0 ( closer 2nd round than the 4th )

Can see the argument for Ortiz winning the round, mainly off the odd attacking moment, and a couple of successes. Mayweather however, landed more.

And then Ortiz got the point deduction, which basically ends the debate :conf

There is no argument ortiz was winning the round Floyd threw more, landed more and landed cleaner. Floyd being caught off balance and "reacting badly" is not enough for Ortiz to take a round so one sided.

End of argument. IB is the most impartial observer on ESB.

Ortiz would have lost either way. He was out of his level of fighting, which is why Floyd picked him. Ortiz is good but not elite or close to it. Floyd does not want a great challenge. Cotto is a step up from Victor, but he is washed up a little and made for Floyd.

Ortiz was getting hit at will and it was only getting worse for Victor. He made a huge mistake by fighting dirty cuz Floyd, as we saw, can fight much dirtier.

Some of these dudes that think Ortiz was hitting Floyd like Mosley hit him in the 2nd round of their fight are just dillusional.

I have followed boxing for some time now and i never ever heard anyone say the fighter which got KO'd was winning the round. If he got KO'd he wasn't winning sh!t was he. Dam these trolls get stupider everyday.

Ortiz landed a couple of nice hooks in the 4th, but in both cases, they seemed to be the result of Mayweather relaxing a bit too much because things were obviously going his way. Vic's attempts to follow up on these fleeting moments of success were stymied pretty quickly, and didn't in any way overshadow the amount of success that Floyd had throughout the round. Floyd was landing more, and these punches were obviously beginning to affect Ortiz- physically, and mentally as it turns out.
