Just a random observation I made watching old highlights of that epic fight...

In the sixth round, after Berto knocked him down and was beating the **** out of him. If Berto, who is a mongoloid, kept up that pace (or was capable of keeping up that pace), he would have made Ortiz quit in the next round, if not in the corner after the next round.

Ortiz saved what was left of his career at that point (which is currently gone now) by knocking Berto down at the end of the round and zapping Berto's momentum.

Berto of course GAVE UP all that momentum after being knocked down...

Just a great fight between 2 of the most re****ed fighters to ever lace'm up... Both guys have all the talent in the world... One guy doesn't know how to use his talent, the other doesn't have the heart to use his talent...

Anyway, random observation, hoping to break away from all the monotony that's been on here lately.

The reason Ortiz beat Berto was because he was able to bend Bertos will.
Lopez and Maidana never backed down and broke Ortiz´s will.

I'm saying don't turn this into a Mayweather/Pacquiao thread. I clearly said in the OP that they both suck

A few rounds before the stoppage, Lopez had him backing up.
    The fight was turning around.

Nah if you breath with your mouth open you are risking to get your jaw broken. It was Ortiz lack of fundamentals more than anything.
