Oh please, Cortez didn't tell them to fight and Mayweather nailed him. That was a joke of a result for a joke of a fight.

I absolutely knew that was going to happen as soon as Ortiz went to hug him I just knew mayweather was going to smack him hard straight away.

I saw that coming a mile off and LOL Ortiz has nobody to blame but himself

    Ditto.

Most of you all dislike Floyd anyways so it's more hate now. Ortiz will be fine. He's 24. He obviously gained great experience. He made a great check. He will actually be embraced even more now due to the way he lost. He can move on and put this behind him. He's a good fighter still. Floyd will hang them up soon. Manny will be done soon. Ortiz can be the man for a long time to come.

Ortiz wasn't even looking. He was looking at the ref since he didn't call time-in. He took some good right hands throughout. Nobody can withstand a decent punch without even facing it.

Same here. Anyone who saw the Gatti fight shouldn't be the least bit surprised.

Both fighters were unethical. Ortiz started it and Mayweather ended it. I was hoping for a full fight and maybe a chance for Ortiz to gain experience. All we saw were dirty fighters and Mayweather being better at it.

    For peace of mind:

Ortiz is a likeable personality, but I always got the feeling that he was happy just being in the fight and collecting his money. If he was truly upset with the result, he would have shown it, but I think he saw this as his out so he can rationalize his loss. Ortiz doesn't have the same competitive spirit as most champions, including Mayweather. Can you imagine a true competitor like Michael Jordan sitting on the bench and smiling after losing the NBA Finals?

Totally agree. In the Maidana fight he even said something along the lines of "knowing when to quit". I can't see a reason for him not to quit since he got a big payday and I'm sure he feels he can come back.
