If he fights Povetkin, he will be seen as a monster. if he fights Wilder, he will be called a bum afterward like stiverne. accept and discuss
Agreed. He is a solid fighter but his resume is poor. He does need to continue to impress in the higher echelons to cement his reputation.
He should fight Briggs. Just for the sake of it. Briggs wants a pay-day that he's not going to get from Wlad, Wilder would probably avoid him. It's a name people know.
Povetkin is lined up to fight Wilder. Wilder is not going near Ortiz. Golden Boy and Haymon don't do business. One is hbo one is showtime it's a non-starter. Hbo needs to line up a solid marketable opponent while Ortiz is groomed as a potential candidate for the Wlad-Fury II winner.
So fighting for the WBC title makes one a bum really ..What other nonsense do you want to enlighten us with atsch
Nobody cares about the titles. Based on these boards, I'm telling you, if Ortiz fights povetkin or maybe even vitali or Joshua, he will be hyped as a monster before those fights get off. But if he fought WIlder he'll be hyped as a nobody.
I think he would be hyped as the one to finally "expose" (a word this forum loves waaaay too much) the fraudulent "champion". But lets look at the more realistic picture here. #2 Klitschko and #1 Fury are tied up with each other. Povetkin is looking forward to a fight with Wilder. Wilder is with big Al. Stiverne is with big Al.(to some extent) Glazkov is doing his own dance with Martin. (If Martin is to win, we will likely see him in the ring with Wilder). Joshua´s handlers are in no rush and neither are they el stupido. Considering Ortiz is in custody of the interim WBA belt, his next opponent in line is whomever emerges victorious between Chagaev and Browne. But that fights three months from now and Ortiz might have an interim fight to keep busy. Maybe he can score a good fight and get someone like Pulev, Parker or Takam in there with him. :bbb
About the same level. I believe Wilder would have knocked out Jennings as well if he tried to rush Wilder like he did Ortiz. Would not have been a dangerous fight, Stiverne because of styles (catch and shooting with power) was more dangerous for Wilder and he won every round.
Look at what happened when Duhaupas, Molina and Firtha rushed him. Wilder did a silly dance in each of those fights.
