If oscar came back trained hard and fought at 154 i think he would be at least a top contender if not a champ again, the weight drained skeleton that fought pacman was not the real oscar-whats your opinion-what could a serious 154 oscar do

on the real that is why I am so surprised he decided to retire and not redeem himself one last time. I believe he could have taken on a solid matchup at 154 or atleast he would have gone down swinging and not blocking.

Oscar may be this and he may be that, but he'll always be the same meathead. Everything he has done pre and post Pacquiao has been stupid dumb, and that includes his decision to not make it abundantly clear to everyone, and himself, that he truly was drained by fighting at his natural weight one last time. He's broken, he's tortured, and he's going to stay that way for the rest of his life. No closure.

Oscar was overtrained. The jerk hadn't been at his usual weight since preparing for the Forbes fight! He underestimated Pacquaio. He took Pac on as a substitute for Floyd who he had originally trained for and took the tune up for and thought he could beat. I seriously seriously seriously believe that in Hoya's mind he thought that he could beat Mayweather in the rematch and since Hoya thinks if you beat p4p#1 then you become p4p#1 as if it were a title fight (he thinks that only because it happened to him once vs. Whitaker, dumb ass Hatton thinks the same way ((probably cuz Hoya told him so)) he probably thought it would be easier vs. Pac as he was not truly p4p#1. He also belived Pac to be a brawler and went into the fight ready for a brawl rather than a boxing match. Anyway, just saying Hoya DID EVERYTHING WRONG.

The only thing truly hurt in that fight against Pac was Hoya's ego. Hoya retired from shattered ego more than anything else.

Could he win another title at 154? If Hoya trained right, took it seriously, then I think he could've. I really think what Hoya should have done was make a fight with Margarito qt 154 after the Cotto fight. Marg would have taken it and it would have been a ko victory reminiscent of Mayorga.

    Oh well.
