I think Oscar stops Bert late. Around the 8th and 9th.

If Bert’s in good form it could be a hell of a brawl though

Didn't know his jaw broken. Just goes to show how inconsistent Mercer was. Fights like Cooper, Lewis, Morrison, he goes balls to the wall crazy. Against Holmes and Ferguson, he's lackadaisical and going through the motions.

Either way, I pick Oscar to win but he certainly isn't beating Cooper as clearly as Mercer was. I just meant the intense, close range pace they had would probably be similar.

It's shocking TBH how up and down Mercer was this is a fighter that out jabbed Lennox Lewis and gave him his closest fight of his career, but yet in the same breath he struggles against Jesse Ferguson, Marion Wilson.

He just wouldn't take fights seriously. It seemed like he wanted to slam guys more than wanted to simply box- Notice how his skills and fundamentals don't shine until midway through his career, and only really for two fights.

    Oscar was better overall.
Tend to agree with this…but I also think back to Patterson beating Ringo…who one would think the same. But Patterson was more refined and faster. Edge it out to best version of ringo

Damiani would have whitewashed Mercer if it wasn't for his freak injury.
