How stupid does DLH think the fans are? he's trying to put this 152 weight issue away. He wants it to go away. I don't believe him, especially after what GBP put Zab Judah through in the pre-fight for Judah Garcia, which had an affect on the fight, Judah might have won if he didn't use up all his energy in the pre-fight. (being locked in a basement during the pre-fight press conference, having his family locked outside the Barclay's Center, etc)

DLH is saying it was Canelo who requested the 152 lb limit? You've gotta be freakin kidding me DLH. What incentive would Canelo have to request a 152 lb weight limit? Did Canelo also request to have 20% of his purse taken away if he doesn't make 152?

DLH is a legend and great promoter, but for goodness sake, tell the fans the truth!! This guy is obviously riding Mayweather's coat tails. Whatever Money May say, GBP must obey. Floyd Mayweather Jr weighed 146 in his last fight, and against Cotto he only weighed 150, so he's planning on weighing near 150 again, and won't even have to worry about whether the limit is 152 or 154. It makes no difference to FMJ, because he's coming up in weight. But that limit means a lot to Canelo, who is a bigger guy and has to train hard to make the weight limit.

Obviously 152 was agreed upon through negotiations. FMJ probably started at 150 lbs, and then compromised to 152 because Canelo couldn't make anything less then 152. If Canelo wanted to weigh 152 lbs on his own, then that should be his decision. But you can't convince me that it was Canelo's idea to have a 152 lb catch weight. there is absolutely no incentive for Canelo to have any catch weight being the bigger guy. He agreed to 152 because Mayweather forced him to, because Canelo wants this fight and thinks he can make 152. He probably can, and maybe it will make him even better, but to say that the catch weight was Canelo's idea. Come on DLH, tell the truth to the fans. Don't you want us to spend our hard earned money to buy the PPV?

Why would he ask for 152 when he weighs 154 for his fights?, his management aren't stupid to allow it.

Of course they are and will but sure as hell won't advise him to demand a 152 catchweight like Oscar is suggesting, which is my point.

I read will try find a link that Money initially asked for the fight at 147 and Shaefer helped negotiate the Catch Weight for Canelo, Sounds like Canelo did a good job to get it at 152 if true

Canelo asked for 152 because Floyd wanted it at 147 and Canelo wanted to make the fight happen. It's called negotiations. I can't believe how stupid *****s are. I thought *******s were the dumbest of the bunch but seeing this board since the fight was announced makes me question that thought.

You can look as hard as you want, and, as much as you'd like to, you'll never find such a link that's authentic. Why? Because Floyd never asked for 147 for Canelo... It was Floyd's father, Floyd Snr, that was flying a kite, without authorization, and without him being a promoter or being part of any negotiations for the fight, just like Roach was typically doing with Pacquiao. In any case, Schaefer promptly shot down such a kite.

Also, please remember/be aware that it was Canelo that, just a few short months ago - and without being provoked or goaded - that called out Floyd and offered that he would fight Floyd at 150. Thus, he (Canelo) initially laid his bed, and so shall he lie on it.

Was it necessary for Floyd to now hold Canelo to his word? Probably not, but this is a hurt sport and a business, and I will hold any control I can during negotiations for such a fight. TBH, Canelo should consider himself and his team lucky to have gotten away with 152 for this fight.

    Just saying.
