I don't care who scored it what. When I see Oscar landing more shots in every category it tends to sway my decision on who's the better fighter. whether Shane landed a few more BODY punches is irrelevant when the stats look like this: Oscar was dominant in EVERY category. When was the last time a fighter did this and lost? Sketchy. PUNCH STATS Total Punches Landed De La Hoya -- 221 Mosley -- 127 Advantage: De La Hoya +94 Total Punches Thrown De La Hoya -- 616 Mosley -- 496 Advantage: De La Hoya +120 Total Connect Percentage De La Hoya -- 36% Mosley -- 26% Jabs Landed De La Hoya -- 106 Mosley -- 33 Advantage: De La Hoya +73 Jabs Thrown De La Hoya -- 296 Mosley -- 268 Advantage: De La Hoya +28 Jabs Connect Percentage De La Hoya -- 36% Mosley -- 12% Power Shots Landed De La Hoya -- 115 Mosley -- 94 Advantage: De La Hoya +21 Power Shots Thrown De La Hoya -- 320 Mosley -- 228 Advantage: De La Hoya +92 Power Shots Percentage De La Hoya -- 36% Mosley -- 41% Notes: * De La Hoya threw an average of ten more punches per round than Mosley * De La Hoya landed an average of eight more punches per round than Mosley * Total punches landed by round -- 11-1 for De La Hoya * Jabs landed by round -- 12-0 for De La Hoya * Power punches landed by round -- 7-3-2 for De La Hoya
Compubox calculates : punches thrown and punches landed is that not the bulk of how we score our fights ????
No, I use my own eyes, not Compubox. It's not accurate. It's people clicking buttons for world class fighters throwing punches in the blink of an eye. Did Trinidad land 160+ punches on De La Hoya? Did Mayweather land 220 on De La Hoya? Gatti landing 40+ punches on Mayweather? Compubox says this many punches landed, but all you have to do is watch the fights to see that clearly less punches actually landed.
Get over Mosley clearly won the fight and proved that he is the better man. Mosley hurt Oscar particularly to the body.
I didn't need to see compubox to know oscar was outfighting Shane. It was obvious, in most rounds, he was outworking and scoring more. Oscar was never hurt in that fight. I wish I could find that pic where shane was just announced the winner and was in absolute shock. We can argue all day but that facial expression spoke volumes.
You're smoking crack if you think Oscar beat Floyd. Oscar didn't even land a single clean punch in the majority of the rounds - he was hitting Floyd's gloves and shoulders all night. It wasn't even a close fight, but one idiot judge giving the fight to Oscar means that people can still make stupid arguments like this.
