i don't think switching the fighters' personalities makes the difference you're suggesting... in fact, if duran weren't such a c*nt, people would talk less about the second leonard fight, and more about the first one.

'badboys' tend to be rated just as accurately as others by reasonable people, look at tyson. when do you see a reasonable person ranking him too highly?

also, your idea of 'objectivity' is quite limited. an objective statement is one that represents the facts, independent of opinion. sure, you listed some facts, but left others out. to name just one of the omitted facts, duran was 37 years old when he fought barkley. and generally, 37 year olds don't win the middleweight title against guys who would end up as heavyweights. maybe this 'fact' is of a more complex structure than 'he won', but it is a fact all the same.

finally, referring to gatti as 'elite' really blew your cover here...

 

Have to agree with PP. Don't know how these guys are elite, especially considering the Duran win's you missed. And who really cares about what a 50 year old Duran is doing against Camacho?

I actually don't think it's bad, it's interesting. The only thing that taints it is that i know you have an agenda, so that's a bit ****, but in terms of the thread, like i say, interesting topic.

 

I will still consider the original Duran and DLH because I am not biased .
I also don't hate nor nuthug either one especially not between these 2.
1) True is that DLH is more underrated than Duran on a H2H basis , but P4P , Duran was in fact better .
Would DLH have fought the likes of Iran Barkley , Robbie Sims and Jorge Castro at MW or even their likes at LMW ?
2) Duran was more successful but only by a small margin.
3) Duran did.
4) Delahoya is more forgiven for his Pacquiao No mas than Duran is forgiven for his Leonard No Mas.
5) Whenever close fights occur , especially without knockdowns and when no one gets visibly hurt for the entire fight I consider it a draw.
Sweetpea's runaway tactics earned him many of close contests with many o men , the thing is he could never hurt elite opponent and unlike Byrd , Norris , Langford and others
