Obviously real boxing fans do not care for this ridiculous fight, but real boxing fans do not make up the majority of the PPV consumers by any stretch of the imagination.

I only hope that the casual fan has smartened up and won't buy this fight if its on the same night as GGG-Canelo.

If im honest im a little interested in this fight. Boxing v UFC at Boxing, the best Boxer of a generation against an absolute MMA monster. Its an interesting side show although i cant see anything other than Floyd making a mockery of McGregor or making it more of an exhibition and try to entertain. 12 rounds of something.

My only real gripe is that this is going to take his record to 50. A zero fight novice. Looking at his record he will end his career facing on paper the worst opponant of his career.

I just can't understand how they can even sanction such fight. A 49-0 fighter shouldn't be fighting a 0-0 fighter with no notable amateur pedigree, no matter what the circumstances.

What will they do if Conor suffers a big injury or gets McClellan'd? Floyd will be landing at will once he figures him out unless he decided to carry him.

To be honest it's a bit hypocritical from Oscar though, he was the one putting the MMA fraud Ronda Rousey on the cover of a boxing magazine and he actually called out Conor and challenged him to fight Canelo. If Conor wanted to fight Canelo Oscar would be singing a different tune.

The build up will definitely be extremely annoying. You'll have all these dumb casuals and UFC fans hyping Conor's chances, I wouldn't be surprised if people end up giving him a bigger chance to beat Floyd than they gave Pacquiao. There will be a lot of WWE-style press conferences and all these annoying UFC guys like Dana White and their media will be involved. Forums will be flooded with threads about this fight. It will be hard to ignore it. I think it will sell up to 2 million PPVs but not more. The undercard will probably suck and will be fool of gimmick fights.

It could happen. Most Americans watch the UFC anyway. Canelo vs. GGG will be mostly hardcore boxing fans and Mexicans. John Smith from Idaho and his entourage is most likely going to watch Floyd vs. McGregor and they will believe McGregor wins. Could still make more numbers than GGG vs. Canelo. Every American with non-Mexican (or Hispanic) background is going to watch that fight.
