    I agree.

I guarantee if he had lost to Pea, Vargas, Quartey or Chavez then his critics would be more willing to recognise them as "big fights".

The Mosley fight wasn't bigger than any of the above.

Felix Trinidad (though not really, and I'm PR)
    Shane Mosley
    Felix Sturm (lets be real)
    Bernard Hopkins
    Floyd Mayweather Jr
    Mannny Pacquiao

So, judging on his big fights... 50% of the time, he won all the time.

Damn, Oscar's got one hell of a resume! HOFer for sure.

well he DID lose to Quartey and failed to give him a rematch, a washed up Pernell made him look silly at times and should've at least got a draw, Vargas was already trashed by Tito and the rest i don't consider big fights.

Those were not his biggest fights and he obviously lost to Whitaker and Quartey. I had him beating Trinidad though.

DLH is a legend. The only thing I have against him is the Pac fight where he put on one of the worst performances of a top rated fighter I have seen - which has caused him to be severely underated on these boards.

  14. :patsch:patsch:patsch First off...anybody wit a brain can see he lost to sweat pea. But besides that.

    Bernard
    Shane x 2
    Tito
    Mayweather
    Pacquiao

Were his BIGGEST fights and he lost ALL of them. So he didn't lose all of his big fights. He lost all of his BIGGEST FIGHTS.

By the way....I notice that you didnt put sturms name up there.:yep

I actually had De La Hoya losing to Quartey, 114-113.

I had his fight against Whitaker a draw, but only because of the WBC's stupid accidental foul point deduction rule. Had it not been for that, Sweet Pea would've won on my card.

Ok guys, go ahead a bash me. I had Trinidad winning against Oscar, 115-113. That fight was close, so I can see how some people had it a draw, like Harold Lederman. Or if someone had De La Hoya winning CLOSE, then yes, I can see where that person would be coming from. To those of you that say Oscar won that fight dominantly, come on. Oscar had the better looking, flashier rounds, but his "ah, ah, ah" pitty pats don't always land. Watch the fight close and no matter who you have winning, it was a close fight.

I thought De La Hoya won his second fight with Mosley, 116-113. So, if any of you think I am some kind of Oscar hater, I am not. He was a great fighter and has a hall of fame resume. I don't think he was an all-time great fighter, but he was great.

Felix Sturm beat Oscar De La Hoya, period. I had it 117-112.

There are a lot of big fights that I didn't mention here because there is no need. Like Mosley I or Mayweather. Those guys clearly beat Oscar, so there is no need to list my scorecards. Anyway, De La Hoya had a great resume, but he didn't give Quartey or Whitaker rematches. Another thing that I have against Oscar is he always complained if a decision didn't go his way. Maybe Quartey, Whitaker and Sturm should've done more complaining. It wouldn't have mattered. Once Oscar got away with the win he never looked back.
