Who has be beat in their prime in the past ten years? beside Whitaker and Chavez Sr, that even deserves being mention as a solid and potentially Hall of fame fighter? All of the Hall of Fame fighters he has fought recently he has lost to. Hopkins,Pac,Floyd,Mosley,Trinidad. he is the most overrated fighter ever! It is a shame that he gets as much credit as he does or once did. Was he a good fighter yes, but he shouldn't be given credit for challenging fighters or taking risk. he should be given credit for beating some of the best and in their prime. Which whitaker and Sr. were not by the way.

He didn't beat Whittaker or Strum either.

But got robbed off Mosley and Tito. Swings and roundabouts. I think he's overrated aswell, good fighter but lost most of the big fights. No one has fought the amount of great fighters as he has which is only a good thing, I respect him.

I respect him as well for stepping up and never being afraid of a challenge. But respect and calling someone great is too different things

Oscar is overrated to a certain degree. He was the Golden Boy a Media Darling and got a lot of hype because of it. His record in big fights can't be overlooked it's not good at all. And he has some very questionable decisions that went his way. In all a solid fighter that couldn't really beat the elite but could compete with them. HOF and a top 100 ATG and he deserves credit for the attention he brought to boxing that's really being what he should be remembered for..

If you were only good or excellent you would lose to DLH. However, if you were a great fighter you would beat him and there's no shame in that.

BTW, that's not taking the Strum fight into account which was simply a fat DLH fighting at a weight that he should never have gone to.

    Er, no...

Boxing, believe it or not, has a history that started a LONG time before De La Hoya and a future that will stretch further then any fighter... :patsch

No he never. De La Hoya has actually admitted that he wish Pac Man HAD knocked him out but he was never hurt. His corner took him out because he was taking too many punches and couldn't "Pull the trigger" as Freddie Roach said.

Whitaker, Chavez, Vargas, Quartey. He arguably beat Mosley and blatantly beat Tito, both were or close to prime. He lost to Hopkins who was simply too big and DLH himself was slightly past it. He lost to PBF & Pac way past his prime although he did hold clear size advantage on both fights. He fought a total of 6-7 former p4p #1's! :yikes

I wouldn't say Oscar is overrated...He just was never to beat any great fighters....I mean people say he was robbed when he fought Mosley but I don't think so...I mean he pulled out the W's to get to the great fighters but he never won against a great fighter...
