I tried to get DLH's gay photo on my avatar, but I only managed to get it on my profile.

Oscar didn't fool me with that bull**** guarantee ... you think this man in your corner is actually going to train you to beat his son? ... the same son that he's trained his entire life?

GTFO of here with that statement ... I don't think Oscar knows what he's in for ... because last time I checked it was only 2 guys fighting in the ring.

Oscar most of the time isn't even listening to his corner man ... he's shown in his most recent fights dating back to Sturm ...

    As the British say:

He would say that, wouldn't he?

If he'd said: "I'm not so sure I can pull this off."

Then, I would have been surprised.

And if he said: "I haven't a hope in hell, but I'll make at least $35M."

I would figure I was watching Oscar's guest appearance on Saturday Night Live.

He has as good a chance as any one else out there (around 40%, IMO).

But as I pointed out earlier, it was not necessary for him to say ANYTHING. He wasn't asked about his chances, how the fight would go, or anything. He was simply asked about Hatton wanting a rematch with Mayweather, but that DLH had first dibs. There are many many answers that go with that besides I guarantee a win. Even if he wanted to talk about his chances, he could have said he felt he was gonna win, that he was the better fighter, etc. etc....but guaranteeing a win in sports is dubious.

Yes, but Oscar (and other boxers) have said things like that before, and there is no realistic expectation that they'll necesssarily live up to them.

Remember, he said he would retire if he lost the Mosley rematch.

For credibility purposes, he could have been a little more circumspect.

Then again, it might be the start of his head-game with Floyd. He mentioned Floyd's daddy. And if that's not psychology, as old as oedipus, I don't know what is.

All very true. I just feel that a "guarantee" in sports is always met with a great deal of wonder at what the athlete was thinking.

Oscar is trying to convince his fans that he will be different ... real boxing purist know that Oscar isn't going to do **** - if anything ... those same words are going to be ripped from his mouth after the fight.

Oscar knows that he can't do anything - and to be honest he does a terrible job hyping a fight by himself ... he needs someone like FLoyd to add the drama --

Oscar's going to kill the drama and fight the same way he did in the first fight ... if he makes any adjustments its going to lead to him getting stopped. He got hit way too much against Forbes and if he fights like that aginst Floyd he's not going to last the distance.

If this fight happened again I wouldn't even bother watching it, same with a Hatton rematch. Neither fighter can do anything different and chances are they'd both lose even heavier than the first time round.

Mayweather is just a greater fighter than Oscar and Hatton, simple as that.

Joe Namath did. You did end your post with sports not just boxing. At the same token if he did not win??? If your a focused champion or any other athlete, your not going to say anything about chances of winning a fight. I gaurnatee a win period. Nothing wrong with that. Listen to some of Tyson's old lines. Oscar does not want to hear about Hatton vs PBF and yes I know he is promoting the fight, but he is so focused on fighting and winning and he wants the people to hear it. 55,000 plus people listening and watch.
