I was thinking about this from a different angle. A good thread title would be how many a class fighters have EVER fought each other in the same match (or something like that, sure that can be worded better).

If it seems like I'm being unfair to DLH, I'm not, it's just one of those odd boxing things I think about randomly every year or so.

Last post from me tonight. Hope to knock out a few youtube fights tomorrow, thanks for the cool conversation.

No one can say Oscar ducked anyone. He's one of those guys that can lose a fight but remain in high stature. By fighting the best, he became the most important man in boxing.

I said Elites. Vargas, Reid, Joppy etc are not elites. They were B and C class, no disrespect to them.

Tito did beat Vargas, but it depends on how high you rank him. I just don't even bother with the Oscar fight. You either view it as Oscar winning or as Tito wearing Oscar down and taking the fight late.....:tired

Night brother, I still consider Oscar the greater of the two regardless. :happy

They were a step up in comp. Also, he was fighting on HBO at that time. Not to mention these guys were bigger than him, and he brutalized all of them.

Yeah it was a crazy time man....in 4 years he fought Whitaker, Chavez, Rivera, Quartey, Carr, Trinidad, Gatti, Mosley.

That's pretty crazy, regardless of the outcome

A step up isn't saying much when you're fighting Thiam, Stevens and Pineda.......

    Yeah I'm hating :hat

    lol

But there was a period of time that he was always on PPV and he was destroying these bigger guys. Obviously, B-Hop put an end to that.

Reid was nothing really special though, he looked terrible against Bouadni and Mullings for god sakes. Vargas was a good win though, so was Joppy.

But again, B level guys. around the same as Oscar beating Leija and Ruelas.

Reid had a lot of talent. He just fought dumb at times. Tito just absolutley ruined him.

he had a lot of talent but there is damned good reason he was cashed out ASAP after Mullings and Boudani fights

A bad decision is a bad decision and I think Sturm/Oscar was every bit as bad as Oscar/Trinidad
