Bert Sugar says boxing's atm machine is done. Says Dlh will be missed, and a star who left an indelible mark on the sport. Teenage girls his fans at first his fans, and then he made everyone a fan. Enigmatic fighter, some latinos didn't appreciate Dlh's style. Sugar says Dlh beat Tito. Became human after loss to Tito. Dominated much of his early comp. Sugar says Dlh's resume superb. Says Dlh has risen to being a great promoter. Typing this as we speak.

Thanks for a great career, champ. Retire in peace.

I can't help but think that he might try to make that Trinidad rematch six months down the road - but for now he appears to have hung the gloves up for good.

Thanks Oscar. I'm not sure there is going to be another fighter as charismatic as you. Keep the good work in the promotion.

Besides being really too small to fight Bernard, he was in every other fight that he lost
(cept Pac-man, which showed he really had lost it), and some would say even some others that he won. :yep

It's so satisfying that the last image the public will have of Oscar is seeing him dominated, TKO'd, and humiliated... by a blown-up flyweight.

It's going to slow-burn in him for a long time.

    Good riddance.

With his level of popularity, he could have gotten away with padding his record and cherry-picking his way to several world titles - and maybe even a nice un-beaten record.
The fact he sought out the biggest challenges speaks volumes about him.
    A unique, hall-of-fame, career.
