You're not a true fight fan if you don't have this attitude.

As someone who was disgusted when he took on fights against Forbes and Pac, I have nothing but respect for a guy with a resume as stacked as his. I have nothing but respect for someone who loves this sport as much he does. You can never say Oscar didn't have passion for this sport.

As I said, enjoy your retirement Oscar.

Not only did he fight the best available competition his entire career and carry the weight of commercial boxing on his shoulders pretty much for the last 1/2 decade or so. Before he left, he helped create boxings next superstars Floyd (although he retired also, Oscar publicized him), Manny Pac and through Floyd, Hatton was made huge in america.

Boxing is lucky to have had Oscar, that is not debatable.

Probably. But for right now let us waddle in our pool of optimism and ignorance.

Ricky Hatton was in position to do it, if he beat Floyd. But he didn't. I don't know.

Is it too much to ask for a moment of respect for a fighter that helped keep boxing in the public's consciousness without hearing that bull****?

Good point. A lot of Pac fan and haters are mocking Oscar for the beating he took. But if Pac is a star now is thanks to the Oscar name in his record.
