You think you're gonna cry? What's Jack Prescott going to do? He will be suicidal now his hero has retired.

I'm gutted being a massive Oscar fan - but he has earned his retirement and I hope he enjoys it.

I hope you're kidding. Oscar carried the entire sport on his freakin shoulders for almost 10 years!!!!

He could have done like Chavez and gone after bums and win and lose some, but this dude wanted to go out in a blaze of glory by continously fighting the best and making them household names in the process.

Without Oscar many fighters would be FORCED to fight more than they'd have too, but Oscar made them rich INCLUDING Yori Boy Campas.

he had a lot of balls to go up to middle and take on hopkins, even he must have known that wasn't going to end well for him.
I hope he enjoys the retirement, he will by all accounts still have a bigger hand in the game than most ex boxers.

Not one of my favorites but you can't knock a guy who was willing to take on all comers. Oscar was a modern day warrior :good

    Not a big surprise.

After he quit in the Pac fight and went and hugged him, Freddie Roach said something like, "you're a good fighter" (didn't hear exactly what) and Oscar replied something like "I don't have it anymore".

Great fighter, great talent, fought top guys.
