Yea, Oscar really didn't land more power punches than Pernell, Pernell's eye really wasn't swollen shut, and pernell wasn't dancing instead of fighting.atsch

 

Whitiker was the one the theatrics Delahoya was the one with the punches !

 

A close fight that could have gone either way. Not a robbery.

Hoya was more aggressive and threw more combinations, but he wasn't landing much. Whitaker was mainly concentrating on defence and jabbing. If you tend to score for the aggressor who throws more power shots you'll probably go for Hoya, and if you prefer evasiveness and jabbing you'll likely go for Whitaker.

 

Yea totally. Although Oscar was getting caught up in it and making stupid gestures right after the bell which were uncharacteristic for him, and he was letting the wily vet get into his head a bit.
I always thought it was funny watching pernell in the post-fight interview in the ring saying " the whole world knows I won" meanwhile his eye was almost shut and looked like he got beat up.

What do you think about the Trinidad/Pernell fight? Tito got to pernell quite a bit more but Pernell did look older and slower in their fight.

 

Pernell was basically shot by the Trinidad fight.

Ramirez I and Chavez were robberies, De La Hoya was not. There's a very clear distinction between the latter and first two.
