So this is an oldie but a goodie: the good old ring magazine the bible of boxing used to do those "who was the best you fought?" Articles. Just paraphrasing here but Fernando Vargas said Oscar de la Hoya. El Feroz said Oscar liked to throw in some veteran moves, such as hitting you on the temples if you didn't protect them, and hitting you under the elbows if you didn't tuck in your arms all the way. Of course there was more to it, as I forget by now but I have heard Hopkins calling Oscar a real Wiley veteran, a student of the game. Was Bernard just offering lip service to sensationalize his win? Or is Hoya just as good as Feroz says? Btw Hector Camacho also called de la Hoya a student of the game. Your thoughts?
Well if Vargas, Hopkins and Camacho are all saying Oscar had a great boxing brain, it's not out of this world to agree with them, I'd say
lol yeah it’s like that, all these great fighters are saying the P4Per of that era was good - are they lying?
