They do know why, Oscar knows why Top Rank won't, it's VERY easy to understand. How is this rocket science for people?

Floyd and Oscar both left TR for GBP to go and make MILLIONS on their own. Bobs held the grudge ever since

Really though, GBP needs to get back with HBO. This will hurt them in the long run and hopefully they are smart enough to know that behind closed doors.

HBO needs to quit being bitches and bring back GBP.

Like Oscar said both will be fine. HBO has backtracked though so who knows.

Sorry, youre not going to do the growth wanted as a company, and perhaps remain the US's largest promoter for too long, while not having Americas largest boxing network on board.

Ya, they will be 'fine', and would still be a power player, but it will be impeding the progress that GBP should be making. Not to mention the vacuum gives power to other promotional companies who will fill that void by GBP on HBO. This is stupid all the way around for GBP as a company that wants to advance. I don't care how anyone wants to slice it, it is a backwards step.

You don't give up the number 1 network to just do business with the number 2 network. And no, this will effect them down the stretch... they will not go under by any means, but they wont grow in the manner they would and should, have they stayed with Showtime AND HBO.

In no way should anyone involved with GBP be ok with not having HBO.

So you think fighters from other promotions are going to turn down championship bouts just because it's not on HBO? Showtime is already putting on the fight of year with Alvarez/Trout.

1 - of course theres not going to be an effect right now. Im talking 3 or 4 years from now.

2 - im talking growth, progress, and forward steps. The vision GBP has for itself. If you think not doing business with HBO is anything but a backwards step I don't know what to tell you. Not having the number 1 boxing network have anything to do with you as a boxing promoter impedes the type of progress you should be making. This is simply common sense.

And like I said, its just giving more fuel to other promotional outfits. The void that will be now filled exclusively with Top Rank, Goosen and Lou gives them more pull then they would otherwise have, which is also not in GBP's best interests.

In common sense and business land, this was a backward step for GBP. One I hope is fixed within the year.

Personally I'm more worried about HBO's boxing in 2 years. Who do they have besides Marquez and Pac as money makers? They are due to retire by next year even. Nonito?

Hell he's on a boxing after dark card tomorrow. and it's not even a card.
