    He's such a good guy and has done so much for boxing without any consideration to his own desires, that I think he deserves a thread where we can all post about how important he is in the history of the sport.

    When he retires, I don't know if the sport will be able to continue on without him. He's boxing's HEART AND SOUL.

    Yeah, he got into promoting just because he wants to put on great shows for the people. Nothing to do with money at all!

    agree except for one point.

    his 'own desires' were his foil because without them he would never have taken a hopkins fight ;)

    it was just his best monetary option after tito and shane because neither wanted to fight him for less money after they had already beaten him.


    but, yep, the perfect ambassador for boxing and a hall of famer - but no great.
