Canelo's been subjecting himself to drug testing for a lot longer than Golovkin has. You're acting like Canelo refuses to be tested. Both sides have no problem agreeing to drug testing for a rematch. I know you're bothered that Canelo isn't being tested now, you believe he's using this time to take banned substances. There's no way for you to prove that, but it's being used as a stalling tactic for Golovkin to avoid the rematch. I'm just a boxing fan who wants to see the fight happen. I'm not one of these guys who get into the conspiracy stuff. Just sign the contract, get testing started ASAP, everyone's happy. Accusing Canelo of cycling whether it's true or not is only going to create more friction between the two camps and delay the signing of the rematch.

VADA is the gold standard - the one GGG has signed up for - and Canelo has refused VADA testing until the contract s signed. He's gearing up as we speak.

Great idea for Old Man Golovkin to stall for time  You're getting ridiculous now.

I don't care about the rematch, tbh. I want to see him unify instead. Bring on Saunders.

I was responding to a post that stated that Canelo got "badly beaten" by Golovkin. That's insulting to everyone's intelligence.

I think the fact that he has just failed a drug test and rather then clear his name by going out his way to sign upto year round testing to prove he’s a clean fighter he’s refused the WBC/vada program ... lost his rankings with them and says he’ll only sign up once his fight is announced speaks volumes

Anyone with half a brain knows his fights don’t get signed and sealed till as late as possible while anyone who was cheating would be long finished their particular cycle

I think the aftermath of his failed drug test has done more damage then the actual failed test

cool, but "being in the tank for a fighter", brings to mind a certain group of posters, a group youre a very vocal part of. i have nothing against you, you seem like a decent guy, but i just thought you would like to know what it looks like from the outside.

Not enrolled ≠ refuses. Canelo's been enrolled in VADA testing up until the suspension. It is unclear to me whether or not him not being enrolled is due to him being suspended or not. I'm not against Canelo enrolling in VADA my man. I want to see both guys tested.

Golovkin knows full well Canelo will agree to testing. The longer Golovkin stalls the more time Canelo has until he's getting tested. So logically speaking it makes sense for both sides to agree to the rematch ASAP.

You're proving my point. You don't care about the rematch. This is the biggest fight in boxing and after last September fans deserve the tiebreaker. Unfortunately you'd rather see your fighter run away from the toughest challenge of his career. I, unlike you, don't run away from a challenge and I'd like to see the rematch happen asap.

I don't disagree that it would be a good PR move for Canelo to just agree to year round testing right now to show everybody he's clean. But at the same time he really hasn't been treated fairly to begin with. Other fighters from Mexico have tested positive for clenbuterol, and didn't get suspended, didn't get accused of doping since meat contamination was believed (Vargas, Nery, etc), etc etc etc

For many fans nothing Canelo does will ever be good enough lol. I mean we know this because many people on here said stuff like "all Canelo needs to do is take a hair test to prove he's a clean fighter" then he does that then all of a sudden that's not good enough.

Don't you see, it's always "something else" that Canelo needs to do to or else he's not proving he's a clean fighter. This is where I think it's getting ridiculous. Just because Canelo hasn't taken all the extraordinary steps to prove he's clean doesn't mean he's doping. He's probably just sick of all this publicity and just wants a few weeks away from all the shenanigans.

LOL care to explain what Jacobs did vs Golovkin that was better than what Canelo did? Getting knocked down, having nothing left in the 12th round, not landing anywhere near the big punches Canelo did? Really, I'm interested in what Jacobs did that was better than what Canelo did.

I don't see how you can defend Canelo this time.

He's refused to sign up for VADA until the contract is signed, despite it being a WBC requirement and despite claiming that he will do his best to prove himself clean.

That's already breaking his word. But wait, it gets worse.

Why is Canelo doing this? As the major boxing reporters have stated, to try to force Golovkin to sign the current offer without further negotiation, for fear that Canelo uses the time off testing to cheat. Using a threat of cheating to try to gain an advantage is utterly despicable and truly indefensible.

    This is utterly despicable.

I guess the 96% of press row scores for GGG don’t mean much to you.
