Mosley won the first fight 8-4. It was definitely a competitive fight. Cotto has a slim chance against prime DLH. DLH is better in most areas. Quicker, taller, rangier, more powerful, better chin. The punch DLH was most vulnerable to was a straight right, which isn't a good weapon of Cotto's. Cotto could get some good bodywork in but he leaves himself open upstairs in doing so. Cotto is most vulnerable to uppercuts. While Oscar's best punches were the left jab and left hook, he often threw a sort of "hookercut", a left thrown at a 45 degree angle. He could probably get through Cotto's guard with it. Cotto would be in for a rough night. He's more likely to last the distance at 147. He either gets stopped or drops a clear UD.
Oscar clearly beat Trinidad and Mosley in the rematch, definitely outboxed and showed superior skills against both. Cotto lacks the chin, sustainability of his pressure, and stamina to beat someone like a prime Oscar. Yes Oscar didn't get the decision against Tito or Mosley 2, but that doesn't mean he actually lost to them. I don't think Cotto would beat a prime Quartey tbh, who was a stronger, badder version of Clottey.
