For me its Arguello. I have him a class above Oscar. Hes also one of my favorites so i cant b totally objective here.

I think Oscar is underrated in here at the lower weights. It seems almost fashionable to discount him. He was a beast in the earlier divisions. Over 15 he would be in trouble but over 12 it's not inconceivable he might box a bit and ask some questions.

I also feel like Oscar is underrated here. Prime Oscar at the lower weights in particular is very underrated. I'm definitely picking Oscar for decision here.

Agree about Oscars getting short shrift here. He's better than most want to admit, and I think he gives Arguello real problems here.

Will Oscar have an answer for the jab and counter right of Arguello?

    Big match up.

Will Arguello have an answer for Oscar's blend of speed and power, as well as his youthful movement?

    That's the question isn't it.

The way Arguello couldn't keep Pryor off him makes me wonder whether he'd keep Oscar off.

But then again Oscar didn't have the stamina that Aaron had.

Oscar looked like a beast at LW but Arguello was a god at LW.

    It's hard to call.

I agree with your premise though. Oscar doesn't get the credit at these weights.

You'd envisage these two at 135 i think. Arguello was peak at 130, Oscar was still developing and tho effective quite inexperienced. Alexis was a little past peak at 135 imo. Oscar was pumping at 135. I think he was peak right at the tail of that before jumping weights fast. He may have developed more as a fighter but that was offset by the weight jumps.

I don't think oscar is underrated on here but I do think he gives arguello real problems. As already stated the distance is a big issue as it's a classic board you have to presume it's a 15 rounder . I think oscar was himself concerned about his stamina which is not good when fighting a elite fighter which arguello undoubtedly was. Rounds 10 to 15 are key here and I see arguello pulling away to take a 15 round UD by between 3 to 6 rounds

I'm gonna pick Arguello on points.

I see it like the Pryor fight, but without the second wind.

Oscar will have quicker hands, feet and will be the bigger hitter so he will take the early rounds by overwhelming Alexis imo.

But as the rounds go the tide will change and Alexis will thump out a decision down the stretch.

If Oscar tries to box with Alexis, it will be an easier night for Arguello i think.

Great fight. I have to go you for Arguello due to him being the better technician. Oscar gives him hell though.

    Oscar the bigger hitter?
