Prime Cervantes would nail Oscar constantly ,he'd have his face swollen .Oscar see's the final bell but he knows he's lost it .

Cervantes by 15 round decision, with Oscar picking himself off the canvas once or twice.

I agree completely with this scar,...people would have seen a better fighter in Cervantes..of this I'm certain.

DLH only briefly stayed at 140 lbs before chasing the bigger bucks at 147 lbs. However in the lower weights he was a weight bully and had a mean streak. Go against the norm and DLH in a hard fought contest wins on pts.

Can someone please school me on Cervantes?? I've only seen his losses. What are his most impressive performances (on youtube)?

Check out his title defense vs Dejesus. You'd be familiar with Dejesus and Cervantes actually beat him between the second and third Duran bouts which never seems to get mentioned. From memory Dejesus gets decked a few times but also landed some good licks. The heat may have got to him a bit in the mid rounds especially given Cervantes size.

I think Oscar would do well early with his speed and showy flurries. He may build a lead but I think that he would fade and Cervantes would be able to time him more and more as the fight progressed. It' a distance fight over 12. 15 rounds who knows if DelaHoya can make it?

    Cervantes would win.

Kev, the Dejesus fight and the Alfonso Frazer fight are really good to watch, but just for fun watch his fight with Shinichi Kadota. I knew of Kadota before their fight, having seen him against Juan Collado, and he really was a lethal body-puncher. However, his kamikaze style against the counter-punching Cervantes, he was like a basketball, Cervantes had him down so many times. Like I said, maybe not competitive, but a bit of fun watching Cervantes take advantage of the openings.
