The fight is highly unlikely to ever happen, but mythical matchups are usually fun.

    Who would win?

Margarito by decision ... I see DLH fighting for his life ... and fighting to survive ... oh and please don't let Oscar front run or run out of gas in the latter rounds ... he will be in for a ton of trouble.

DLH wants no parts of Margarito !!

This is possible after Margo defeats Cotto May wont give him a fight and a fight with Oscar in December for a farewell would be an all out mexican brawl in LA...But I dont think Oscar wants this fight hell nah it wont happen

    Margarito late round TKO

ODLH in his prime would have beat the living **** out of MArgarito. Mid round stoppage

Margarito is too young, too energetic (still) and just too hard nosed to lose to an faded DLH.

DLH in his prime had issues with stamina and now it's much worse. He couldn't even conjure up the strength to pitty pat Mayweather along the ropes. How the hell is he going to do with the relentless attack of Margarito?

And please don't compare Margarito to Mayorga. Margarito looks like JCChavez next to Mayorga.

DLH in his prime would have decisioned Margarito in a hard fought 8-4 decision. Today Margarito takes it by late stoppage.

Oscars got to much speed and all around ability for Margarito. The main reason I give Margarito a good chance to beat Cotto is that Cotto gets hurt in alot of fights and Margarito is the hardest puncher and by far the best finisher hes ever faced. Oscar doesnt need to worry about Margaritos power he would give him a boxing lesson in the center of the ring and maybe even stop him on cuts.

It's much easier for it to go the other way (Margo by UD) given that they used to spar and Margo may have his number.

    See: Ali VS Holmes.

Great post...I think Oscars reach would give Margo a problem however were talking about prime Margo against shot Oscar...no doubt Oscar beats Margo in his prime but now it would be impossible for him to outlast or last 12 rounds with Margo.

That's another good point. I wouldn't even be surprised if Margarito developed that sneaky uppercut during those sparring sessions with DLH.

Margarito would eat De La Hoya up late in the fight. Too much stamina, strength and work rate. :smoke:smoke

Little "two pounds" broke DLH's face bone. . . Prime Margarito makes DLH as ugly as his trainer.
