if valero had a good trainer and exposure at a young age! he beats oscar... I heard he whooped his ass in sparring before the pac fight!!!
Yeah, cause Valero beating up a 90 year old Oscar in sparring is a GREAT indication for how he would do vs a prime lightweight Oscar.:roll:atsch DLH by KO. Oscar was a ****in beast at 135.
Oscar by ko. Lightweight Pacquaio could have "probably" beaten Oscar but not Valero. There is nothing in Valero's fights which makes me think he can overpower, outspeed, DLH. And he doesn't have the defence to stop DLH from clipping him at will. As in most DLH fights of this period it would be an early ko.
What's up with all these hypothetical Valero matchups? De La Hoya would have straight moped the floor with this guy!
I'll be nice and give Valero the benefit of the doubt in terms of his punch resistance and toughness and says he lasts the distance.
I get JOY out of knowing oscar didnt want anymore of that edwin action in big bear before the pac fight!! LOL
Edwin would of beat the hell out of the oscar that pac fought!! Thats for sure.... but when oscar was in his prime i'll give him the damn fight against edwin!!
thread stealer: you seem like a very smart guy., tell these simps that a guy doesnt have to be mainstream to be the goods!!
Hardly anyone denies that Valero was a good fighter with talent and potential. It's a stretch though to match him up with great fighters like DLH & Mayweather based on his opposition and what he proved in the ring. Sure there's gym stories about how good Valero was, but you can say the same about guys like Tony Ayala and Bernard Mays. Ayala and Valero beat a couple of top 10 guys, but that's a long way from the Floyds and Haglers out there.
