I agree, this was an easy fight to score. Oscar was eating Quartey right hands all night. Even the HBO announcing crew was thinking de la Hoya had lost before the decision was read.

Gil clancy gave Delahoya bad advice to run, judges don't like that kind of thing, still surprising considering the commercial force Oscar was, usually they go with the money guy, wierd decision. Delahoya though was entering a period where instead of proving greatness he was finding ways to dog it and lose his biggest fights, he lost every big fight after this and I don't count a vargas or mayorga as real top champs. Cornermen are like anyone else, they have prime's and can end up out of the loop too, Gil Clancy was past his as a cornerman at this point, but Delahoya may have been too tired to do anything else anyway, who knows

On the HBO broadcast, you can hear Clancy say "box, box". He didn't tell him to run and stay away, while Alcazar said "make sure they know you won the round".

Taking this into account and assuming Clancy's advice didn't change to "run" when the cameras shifted to Trinidad's corner, it seems that Oscar's corner seems to get unfair flack for the loss.

The blame should go to the judges, or Oscar. Or hell, credit Tito for possibly causing and adding to Oscar's fatigue to his legs by stalking him, and maybe causing some mental fatigue since he kept coming at him (not all that effectively however).

Very easy fight to score. I had Quartey up 6-5 at the beginning of the last round and we know how that went. DLH is the winner by the virtue of that last round. anyone claiming robbbery is simply biased.

I think the main reason for the disappointment was how poor trinidad looked in comparison to dlh in the first 2/3 of the fight, dlh didn't deserve nothing after his running and trinidad didn't deserve nothing after being clowned for the majority of the early-mid rds, draw would have been fair

Bottom line, DLH proved to be the better fighter.

This fight was labeled as the Fight Of The Millennium but it turned out to be the opposite. I was there in person but walked out really disappointed to say the least. The lead up to the fight is worth mentioning, the negotiations were excruciating. In one side you had the Golden Boy who was at the peak of his career and thought he deserved the moon (but I will say Oscar deserved more). On the other side you had Tito whom management team thought he also deserved the moon (and he did too). So when the negotiations first started and Oscar/Arum offered Tito $1 million for the fight, it was a easy decision for the Trinidads to simply tell them to go **** themselfs (which they did). As a matter fact, Papa Trinidad severed his ties to Yamil Chade because Yamil thought the Trinidad were going to look stupid and dumb if they didnt take the $1 million. Papa Trinidad simply responded to the Oscar camp, look we acan go our way and you can go your way but sooner or later we will have to meet. So after some lengthy negotiations, Oscar/Arum agreed to pay Tito $10 millions for the fight. Putting all that **** a side, we must remember that Oscar and Tito were both considered KO boxers before thri fight so everyone was expecting that type of fight. Nobody expected Oscar go in there and box like he did. We all wanted to see fireworks, hell we all knew he could box, that night was about Mexico vs PR, machismo vs machismo, you know what I am saying. In my eyes, Tito didnt win the fight but neither did Oscar, a draw would had been a better call and we would not be talking about this fight, AGAIN. I will say this though, after the fight when Tito said "it was not my fault." I agree with him.

So at the end WE the fans were robbed. Just like we were robbed when PBF vs Pac didnt happened....

    No.

The only thing Ole' Fishnets proved was that he's better @ impersonating Jessie Owens.

I understand people's disappointment (I didn't experience it first hand but i've read and seen pre fight hype). It wasn't a thriller.

But frankly, as boxing fans, I'm surprised the hate this fight gets. I'm a big DLH fan, admittedly more than I am a tito fan, but all that aside, dlh put on arguably his greatest and smoothest performance over the consensus joint p4p #1. I never really see anyone appreciate how dominant he was over a great fighter. he made trinidad look clueless for the first 8 and a half rounds and was in most people's eyes robbed of a decision

But granted, leonard-hearns, zale-graziano it was not.

For the record, I haven't watched it in a while, but dlh shaded past quartey too

Nucca please:roll: Even with the three rounds DLH gave to Trinidad he proved
to be the more skilled fighter. Only and idiot, blind-man or a hater would not have been able to recognize that.
