I'd say Taylor by decision, but it's a very dangerous fight and a very really possibility Oscar catches him and stops him late. But Oscar always had difficulty with speed, and I see him having a lot of difficulty with Taylor's speed. Mel by decision.

Probably Oscar. Meldrick might outbox him in the early rounds but those hard shots that De la Hoya will be nailing him with will have a commutative effective as the fight progresses.. I'm thinking oscar by late stoppage

DLH KO's him with a big left hook. meldrick wasn't a smart fighter. he would try 2 slug with DLH and end up paying the price

Oscar, while having a height and reach advantage, probably wouldn't use it to best effect. He had a tendency to stand in front of his opponents. Older, Welterweight Taylor would most likely lose to Dela Hoya in similar fashion to the way he lost to taller Christana Espana. But, prime 140 lb. Taylor was faster and more durable than that version. I think Taylor would outspeed Oscar from the pocket and win a 12 round decision.

Oscar was incredible at LWW and was in his peak there imo. He was always going to jump up to WW but with his size advantage at LWW and his stamina which later failed him he was a beast.

I pick him by destruction like the Chavez Taylor rematch.

Oscar's resume at 140 lbs. is pretty thin. He didn't fight there long.

He stopped a badly faded JC Chavez, outpointed Miguel Angel Gonzales, who was moving up from 135 lbs. He also stopped a way past is prime Darryl Tyson. Not much to go by.

He himself had moved up from 135 and at 135 him and MAG were the top 2 contenders I'm why would have been a huge unification.

Plus we all know how good Oscar was in his fights at WW, he was stronger and fitter at LWW.
