This. Fast hands, good movement, hard punch, good jab, and ring smarts, not to mention a size advantage, is enough to consistently beat Chavez.
I believe Chavez wins maybe stops him. Can`t forget how great Julio was at his peak. I am assuming were talking 135lbs here. The other reason is I`m not that sold on Oscar at the lower weights the way some are. Oscar was big for the division but I believe he would weaken as the fight wore on. I don`t think he could handle the precise pressure and the body assault from Julio. Oscar was devastating early at those lower weights but we know Chavez isn`t going anywhere early with that iron chin. He also didn`t cut in his prime. Look at DelaHoya`s bout with Miguel Angel Gonzalez. If ODH had trouble with Trinidad`s consistant pressure at `47 then imagine what he would feel at `35 with Chavez digging hooks to the body every round cutting the ring much better than Trinidad could. Chavez by TKO Oscar doesn`t answer the bell late. JCC had that quit on your stool type of power.
130/135 I'd say Chavez...Oscar was still a little inexperienced for Chavez at 135, but any higher in weight and Oscar takes it. At any weight, Oscar would be a very difficult matchup for Chavez.
Oscar was stronger at 135 and a harder puncher than he was at 147. I don't agree with Chavez winning, much less stopping Oscar, but I won't say its absurd either.
Chavez was troubled by guys with good speed combination punching and footwork. DLH had a chin and height to go with his tools. I think he always beats Chavez.
