At lightweight i would give the edge to Duran,Oscar too young and green. At welterweight it's a toss'em up fight,Oscar's handspeed vs Roberto's ferocity. It's a close call at welterweight IMHO
duran would've KO'ed de la hoya inside 8 rds at 135. oscar had fast hands and good pop at that weight. but his accuracy has'nt always been the best, bad inside fighter and was'nt much of a mover at that weight either. he would'nt have anything to keep duran from getting inside and wrecking him. duran was explosive at that weight and would be closing the distance relatively easy.
I favor Duran but, Roberto has had problems with quick left hooks in his career and Oscar had a vicious one at 135 and a little less so at 147. Stamina becomes an issue if Oscar cannot tame Duran with the left. ergo, Oscar would lose by MD in both weight classes as his chin is to tough for Duran to crack.
At 135, I'd go with Duran by decision over 12 and Duran by late TKO in a 15 rounder. At 147, I'd pick Duran by decision.
oscar kills duran at 135 if duran lost to dejesus no way he gets by oscar who was bigger and stronger then duran
:-( Yes, and by your "logic" John John Molina also takes Duran the distance for the win, since he gave Oscar a tough fight and all.atsch
