Not completely different, but there are some major differences, one being that Pernell actually did better in the second half that the first.
It was completely opposite with DLH, he gassed late in the fight and ran for dear life.

Whit did well the last half and trinidad only did the last quarter. big difference in rounds scoring. trinidad only won rounds 4 and maybe 9 by the time the 10th came round, give him the next 3 and he has a 7-5 loss at best even though he got outlanded in the 9th.

I had allready caught on to HBO's bias shenanigans by the time the DLH-Trinidad fight rolled around. They were not going to brainwash me.
I saw the fight pretty much how the British broadcast team saw it, DLH with a slight edge through 9, then DLH switching sports and handing over the fight to Trinidad.

The fight left me wanting to taste what would have happened if DLH actually threw hands the last few rounds.
My inclination is that Trinidad who's stamina was superior, he was a runner of marathons and trained religiously, would have had his best moments those last rounds. But instead we were left with DLH running a trackmeet and Tito along on the chase.

Yeah he got a bloody nose. And still finished the stronger fighter. He also blew out through his bloody nose repeatedly (a cardinal sin) which caused the eye to swell by the third as well. Other than that, he suffered barely any damage. And...finished the stronger fighter.

Pretending that had the fight taken place at 160 would've resulted in an Oscar KO is a little short-sighted. You wanna give him Bernard strength? Why not add Zab speed and Pea defense while you're at it?

Anyway, Oscar could not fight off the ropes like Bernard did. His right hand wasn't anywhere near Bernard's either and it was the right hand that bedeviled Trinidad against Hops. Bernard understood that it was unwise to hook with a hooker, which is why he never tried whenever he stood his ground or fought off the ropes. Oscar understand that too, which is why he never engaged. Unfortunately he had no right to speak of and no ability to fight off the ropes like Nard. Didn't possess that kind of stamina too. So he ran. Simply put, he couldn't do what Hopkins did because he isn't as good as Hopkins.

Youre too hung up on fighting off the ropes. WTF does that have to do with anything? Oscar did whatever he wanted everywhere else.

If that were the case (it wasn't) then why did he stop doing that?

Guess he wanted to show us that he could run too. Someone forgot to tell him that we already know most humans with functioning legs can.

Not when they've won 8 out of 12 rounds already in a boxing match :deal
