De La Hoya never faced a guard like Winky`s, I feel it would give Winky the advantage, he dealy with Quarty at 154 for better than Oscar did at 147, De LA Hoya didn`t do much at 154 whereas Winky dominated Mosley twice and dealt with his speed far better than Oscar did.
I agree with everything you said and I agree Winky beats Oscar. I actually think he probably only loses two or three rounds at most. But I think it's unfair to compare the version of Ike who fought Oscar and the version who fought Winky. Oscar fought Bazooka Ike when Ike was at the peak of his powers and full of blood lust. By the time Ike came back he was significantly older and he didn't seem to have the same passion or ability. I think losing to Forrest (RIP) by robbery really got Ike looking cash out, and in showed in his performance against Winky. I'm a huge Quartey fan but he barely made it past Verno Philips during his comeback. The Ike who fought Oscar would have carved Philips up by the fifth round.
De La Hoya outpoints Winky at 154. Winky has become one of the most overrated fighters in the entire forum. Prime Winky struggled with fighters like Bronco McKart, and lost to Fernando Vargas around the same time De La Hoya (and Trinidad) decimated Vargas.
Though I’d pick Winky over Oscar I agree that Winky gets a bit overrated. I always felt he was perfect time perfect place with regards to his signature opponents. I know he dominated what was left of Tito but I think that Tito was far removed from the one of 2000. I don’t think Wright beats that version.
