haha what!!?!?! since when do SRL and DLH have ANY coaching credentials let alone enough to become coaches of the Olympic team???? good fighter with no experience training others doesn't = good trainer. some of thebest fighters are awful trainers and at the same time a lot of mediocre fighters make great trainers but regardless no one without significant experience and a stellar record of success as trainer should even be considered to coach and olympic team.

he would be a shitty coach so would Breland who has done **** all with Wilder.

Kevin Rooney offered to take over the team years ago but they won't ever let him do to his connections with Cus D'Amato who a kot of people in Boxing did not like he was essentially blackballed.

US Team lost some good boxers to pro ranks, Magdeleno and Benevidez off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more guys that just couldn't wait any longer.

Oscar is arguably the best olympic boxer we've had over the past few decades. . .

He was excitng to watch at the olympics too. . . BEASTING. . .

His style is also perfect for professional boxer. . So he'd not only be preparing them to win the olympics, but also get ready for pro ranks too.

He just has that quintessential boxer/puncher style that is exciting to watch, effective in ammy, and pro ranks, and overall technically sound.

Having 3 formor gold medal winners De La Hoya, Leonard and Breland can't hurt.
Where they can really help is in creating intrest in the sport among the youth who will be chosing between boxing and MMA.

Oscar would know his **** in the AM's.

So many of these great fighters like Oscar, Floyd, Leonard.
    They would help greatly.

Tap into Rigo and some Cubans whilst they are in the US.
Oscar could organise the best sparring where they could learn far better.

If I was the head of USA Boxing. I would preach going for knockouts. I understand the risks, but I think the rewards are greater. Why leave the result into the hands of the judges?
