Perfect opponent for GGG. There was this one GGG fanboy who wanted GGG to fight an ancient Roy Jones Jr. at 175 just to have an ATG in his resume and fight a bigger man.. :rofl
THREE rounds?! Try the first minute. And the drug cartels win because after this brutalizing, Oscar will empty out his garage to stock it with cocaine. :deal
Always a fan of Oscar, but he was never good at middleweight even when he was as active. At 42, he is not competitive with GGG. He could beat a C guy at middleweight at best. Hope he stays retired.
Exploding into the arena as a 300/1 favorite to a roaring mentally incapable fanbase, GGG impresses with a first round stoppage which further corners his Welterweight targets into finally signing the contract. *Terminator theme song plays* [yt]Bls8km8oAz8[/yt]
I felt sorrier for him when he was off the stuff. I used to mess about with it in college, it was good fun. :deal
Oscar would get annihilated, but the dude fought the best and loss to the best.. I have no doubt if GGG was around in 03 oscar would have picked GGG over sturm, if HOPKINS wouldnt have got to him first!
Oscar fought the best and beat the best, unless your speaking when he was washed up. Only 1 man ever beat prime oscar, and that was mosley in the first fight by 1 round. Oscar avenged and beat mosley handily in the rematch only to get robbed awfully like he did when he dominated Trinidad for 9.5 rounds. But fact remains, Oscar beat Whitaker who was still ranked P4P #1, Chavez twice, Quartey, Molina, Ruelas, Hernandez (floyd's own best claimed win, an oscar left over!), Vargas, Mosley and Trinidad. Hell, he was beating Floyd the first 7-8 rounds of their fight before he gassed, and this was 7 years past his prime! To the point of the thread though, Oscar better not come back if hes going to take a fight like that. He does have a wicked chin though and never been cracked and he would have a speed advantage most likely but not a good idea. His best class was welter and lightweight.
No, Oscar wouldnt have been that dumb, he doesn't belong at middleweight and sturm was proof of that. That class was all wrong for Oscar, his speed wasn't the same and his power was gone there.
Oscar had ***** even though they were wrapped up in fishnets... i think he would have fought GGG no doubt... And regarding the first post, i agree but he did lose to the best as well, whether it was while he was in his dominant prime or a lil past it, oscar was always competitive even at his later age... except for the pac fight unfortunately:deal
