No what the sport needs is no more exclusive contracts with promoters or networks, let them bid against each other and have the higher dollar win. That benefits the fans and the boxers. Thats the way it used to be. With fighters as essentially promotional and network free agents the sport would be much better off. less promoters is only a benefit when you have a situation like the gridlock between GBP and Arum, the problem is thats a situation where both essentially want a monopoly, if that happens we as fans lose. plain and simple.

I think it might suck at first but it might bring back a true champ to every division in the long run.

well, I actually think it was nice of Oscar to try and conceal from Ortiz and Campbell that GBP is making 750k from their fight and both fighters would just get about 100k apiece.

he tried to prevent the two from feeling like they're getting screwed over.

Golden Boy is a much better promotional outfit than Top Rank, in my opinion. And Oscar's beliefs/desires are shared by Arum, King, Shaw, etc. Lou DiBella seems to be the coolest and most down to earth.

There are pros and cons to Oscar's proposal but ultimately it would be better for the fans so I'm not opposed to the idea.

because he co-promotes Pac, and gets a $$$ % from Arum's take of Pac's purse. so, together they "milk in" asian $$$ from all over the world.

Exactly. Nearly every promoter out there is just as bad.

Self serving and egotistical... but this is the path to a unified governing body.

Put aside how much you dislike Oscar and Bob for a moment. It's what yall want right, one controlling body?

It never bothered me that he beat Chavez twice, because everybody knows that Chavez was past his prime.

Oscar would've never beat a prime Chavez, only an Old one.

What bothers me is the corruption that Oscar instigates.
The FIXED FIGHTS (Oscar-Pac, Pac-Clottey, Pac-Margarito) ; the EPO Steroids/Hormones cover-ups for Shane Mosley's cheated undeserving "win" over Antonio Margarito; Hopkins' cheated undeserving (epo steroids) "win" over Kelly Pavlik; Shane Mosley's cheated undeserving (epo steroids) "win" over Fernando Vargas; etc.

Ask Larry Holmes who a tyrant is. Promoters only look after themselves.
