And he's absolutely right, imo. I dunno if it should be HIM running the show, but imagine basketball with 4 NBAs. Doesn't make sense. Fans get confused.

I mean, imagine guys... the best fight the best, there's ONE ranking system, ONE belt, and only *gasp* ONE CHAMPION in each division. Sounds like a proper sport to me. No paper champs, no fights not getting made, blahblah.

Like I said, dunno if it should be GBP running the show, but at this stage of the game I think I'd take it.

And lets go back to 8 divisions and 15 rounders so fighters can come in shape ..Im with that GBP though is not the one that should be leading the charge !

Did you mention that De la Hoya ducked Soto in his prime?

I'm all for organization but I'm not sure if the way he proposes is the right way to do it.

Well, what system seems to work better - boxing, with four main sanctioning bodies, at least a dozen major promoters, at least a dozen major managers and no collective action? Or MMA, which really only has one body that matters?

I wouldn't want Golden Boy to be in charge of everything, but he's right.

Looks like the general consensus is that he's right. There needs to be ONE entity. But in no ****in way should it be DLH. Besides, this isn't even new news. PEople have been saying this for years. WHere's McCain when we need him!

Good God, your man love for Delahoya is embarrassing.

Absolutely nothing good can come from one promoter having control of the best fighters.

Whats wrong with boxing today is that there is'nt enough top promoters.......

Arum and DLH are the top two promoters in the US right now, and each of them have enough fighters under their banner that they can match their own fighters up with eachother.

To have the top fighters fighting eachother without fights being fixed either literally or through bias from officials, we need more diversity in promotional co.

.....diversity to the extent that the promoters themselves would have a difficult time consistently matching their fighters within their own promotional banner.

We need a situation where there is competition between the promoters to be forced to make "big fights".......
A situation where one promoter goes to the next and say's, "lets pull one over on GBP, and make this here fight between these here fighters."

Monopolizing the sport as DLH would like to do, would sink it even further.

What McCain wanted to do was have one cental boxing commision, not have one promoter take over boxing.

Having one promoter take over the sport would be bad for the fighters themselves.
One single promotional Co. would lend itself to have a situation where that promotional Co. takes financial advantage of the fighters by dictating what they should make.

If you dont have rival promoters bidding for the rights to promote fighters, the payscale for the fighters drop.

I'm all for a cental boxing commission run by competent people, but certainly not a central promotional Co. in charge of handling all the best fighters.:-(

I agree with this statement . GBP put Ortiz who was their next cover boy with Maidana and they're doing so again with Khan. Plus boxing is killing itself being so divided . Bob tries to be his own entity worse than any other promoter and is a huge culprit in boxings falling . UFC although is nothing but a glorified toughman organization has it's **** together because Dana has that **** on lock like Hitler. He makes match up after match up with all the names in his sport which gives off the illusion that mma is better. But with this said if this is Oscars goal he has a hard time set against him. If he gets Floyd to fight and beat Manny it would be a huge blow to TR because Manny's stock will drop drastically and if Bob finally makes Gamboa/Juanma one guy will be written off as well. Dibella and Goosen are already sort of in the pits.

Well multiple titles and many alphabet groups creates many champions and more fans involved, more revenue.

I never hear Don King, Arum or any other promoter, boxing commissions, etc. say that there should be only one centralized authority.

Oscar seems to want to control boxing , and run it, in his corruptive, greedy way.

If there't to be a centralized authority, It should be the Feds, not Oscar/GBP.
