Oscar made the Lemieux fight in a blink of an eye, but is giving the press run-arounds (catchweight, Canelo has just fought at 160lbs, Canelo's gonna fight him when he's ready despite of his fighter being the lineal MIDDLEWEIGHT champ, and a ton of ridiculous excuses) when it comes to Canelo vs GGG...
Just goes to show that he knows Ginger is gonna get obliterated by GGG...

Because he'd just signed David he was expendable and Canelo is his Golden Goose and isn't.

Oscars just a hypocrite. he talks **** about Mayweather fighting other fighters who were past it. but it looks like hes headed down that same road with his cash cow.

IIRC he didn't want to put Lemieux in with Golovkin when he first beat N'dam, dunno why he changed his mind, but I'm glad he did.

A loss for Lemieux makes no difference to Oscar but a win would have been huge, so he could roll the dice and play with house money. Canelo is his top guy and a loss could legitimately effect the short-term future of his company.

Canelo is his top fighter and draw Lemieux was expendable so he could take a gamble.

It's abundantly obvious, and the fact he sacrificed Lemieux so willingly and fell short only further amplifies the obvious.

Yep. After Gennady let Murray go 11 rounds and let Monroe to land a few, everybody thought that they could do even better. Nice trick from Abel and Gennady !

Why not let him defend his title a few times and put him against Canelo when he had the belt. Waste of a in house fight in my opinion. There was no rush but, Oscar does not know how to play chess in business which is why he is where he is today.

I was very surprised that Lemieux - to his credit - went forward with that fight so soon after winning the title, rather than milking it for cash with a couple of hometown defenses - which is something he could have, and perhaps should have, well done.

But I admire when people seek out the toughest available challenges, and Lemieux did just that, and did so without hesitation.

If I were in Oscar's shoes, I would have forbidden such a fight, but WTF do I know?

yes big respect to Lemieux for wanting and taking that fight rather than trying to milk his title for every dollar he could of.

makes me think of the days when the best only wanted the best because there was only 1 title.

how can there be so many champs in every division?

Put a stop to it Rumy, make a video about it :hat

Some day I plan to tackle a topic similar to that. But in the meantime, I'm planning out a different one. Maybe one before that one, not sure.
