    I was at the event in San Jose last night and everyone booed DLH and I was shocked myself. I turned around and asked people what was the reason and they said "I just don't like him. He looks like a pretty boy that is scared to be hit. He isn't a real Mexican fighter and doesn't go for knockouts." I thought it was disrespectful and its probably the last time San Jose ever gets an event like this.

    During every match the "fans" would start booing because there was not a youtube like knockout. Its sad to think majority of people that go to those events don't even understand boxing and just want to see the KO's.

    Yep, lets encourage fighters to get brain damage, thats the way forward :-( Its obviousl he was dead at the weight, no point him continuing, mistake making the fight with Pac in the first place? Yes. But get over it

    I take it that you also would boo the likes of Ali, Holyfield, RJJ, and SRL if you had the chance? How long have you been watching boxing... 6 months? Did you know that it isn't uncommon for a fighter to end up fighting too long and wind up on the receiving end of a one sided beating?

    Jealousy and ignorance, booing fans at boxing matches don't respect the art of boxing or the amount of hard work that goes on before hand.

    Oscar Del A Hoya does not deserve that treatment.

    Yeah, hell I know what you mean. **** Hagler-Hearns, forrest-Mayorga I and Tyson-Ruddock I. The hell with Corrales-Castillo and Ward-Gatti I. I have no interest in fights like Leonard-Duran I or Ali-Frazier III, as long as I have my copy of Hopkins-Wright, and of course, Hopkins-Hakkar.

    Well for what recently happen maybe they booed him because they're money wasn't worth on his last fight.

    And that being said, IT's AWFULLY Disrespectful. It's not easy being a fighter and do promoting for us to see better fights. Hoya may have his up and downs, but what he brought to the tables are much more likely the best things we have gotten.

    There is no way Oscar deserves to be booed. You can forget De la Hoya lost to Pacquiao in his last fight. Oscar is far passed his prime. People forget too quickly who quit between rounds against Oscar when he was passed his prime, Julio Cesar Chavez. So he's not a true Mexican fighter? Why not? He runs like a girl? He stood toe to toe with Quartey and the larger Vargas. De la Hoya is a great fighter and deserves respect.

    Considering Oscar has carried boxing on his back for the last ten years, I think its somewhat ungrateful for fans of the sport to start booing him now.

    Very good post.
    Also Roberto Duran quit against Leonard when both were prime right in the middle of the ****en ring! -Not even on his stool after a beating, he just saw he couldn't win and said **** it.

    By Prescott's reasoning, not only is Oscar a ***** for not continuing but so are;

    1) Julio Cesar Chavez
    2) Roberto Duran
    3) Iron Mike Tyson

    DOn't see the big deal. SO some people don't like DLH, is that really a surprise? Is everyone SUPPOSED to love him? People boo him for the same reason you guys boo boxer you don't like. Get over it already...
