Oscar fight to fetch $20M for Manny?

It’s not an impossible dream for WBC superfeatherweight champion Manny Pacquiao to take on

and trainer Freddie Roach said recently there’s a big chance the fight could happen sooner or later with a $20-million purse for the Filipino icon.

“I think it would be a great fight,” said Roach. “Oscar wants it. And if Manny is guaranteed something like $20 million, he might just take it. But Oscar will have to go down to 147 pounds, which was what Manny weighed the night he fought (Juan Manuel) Marquez. Oscar will go up to about 160 at fight time so there will be a disparity in weight.”

    Roach, however, said

will be at a disadvantage outweighing Pacquiao by over 10 pounds.

“Oscar will be much slower because he’ll carry more weight,” said Roach. “That’s how we’ll want it. Manny can use his speed to move in and out. It’ll be a very competitive and entertaining fight. It will certainly sell at the box office.”

actually I would love for this to happen so we don't have to see DLH FMJ fight. Maybe this would force FMJ to take on Cotto.

Yes, DLH-Pacman could have some good secondary effects.

However, Cotto is fighting Gomez, Margarito-Cintron winner, Mayorga and he might also fight Clottey, his mandatory. Maybe they should also fight Pacquiao so Cotto becomes free.

Im pretty sure Cotto would drop all those fights in a second if Mayweather had an open schedule.

Floyd's asking to much money for the DLH rematch. The other option for DLH were Hatton & Pac. Pac-DLH will sell more, He'll pick that fight. DLH's an educated & I'm sure he checks feedback from boxing forums. Check it anywhere in the net... The general concensus is fans really are not interested with PBF-DLh rematch.

When Pac-DLH were discussed.. Boxing forum explodes!!! There's hype, intrigue, history in the making, & it's a guaranteed action fight. I think this fight will happen if Pac wins impressively with Diaz.

Really? I'm pretty sure his father (arum) wouldn't let him do that even if he wanted to.

It seems like Roach is giving Pac a real Chance. He trained DLH & He's Pac trainer. I'm sure he knows which fighter punches harder. He already said in the Past the Pac has more Pop. It means more Velocity. If Pac keep that Velocity & add more muscle weight. Then it safe to say the Pac really are more powerful than DLH. DLh still outweight Pac on this fight by at least 10 lbs by fight night. Pac has the chance to win this by using his speed. His Power will keep DLH honest.

I've ask a lot of my customers about this Pac-DLH matchup. This guys are in their 50s, Caucasians & are old time Boxing fans & follow boxing. I was surprised that all of them pick up Pacquiao. They said Pac is too fast for DLH.
