News to me. Go slap yourselves. atsch I thought Oscar looked great. He was playing the aggressor, using the jab and the double jab to get in on a defense first opponent, and using his height to his advantage. Yeah, Oscar got hit occasionaly, but that's what happens when you try to make the fight. I thought his jab looked great. It was accurate, fast, and it got Oscar in close so he could fire off combinations. Not only that, but Oscar didn't fade that much in the later rounds and his workrate was relatively steady throughout the fight. To me he looked much better than he did when he fought Mayweather, and I don't see why so many people on here are saying that he didn't. Because he didn't knock Forbes out? Slap yourselves. atsch And while this fight isn't necessarily an exact indication of what would happen against Floyd considering Floyd's defense is much better than Forbes, it does give some insight into how Oscar will approach his next fight, especially considering who Forbes' trainers happen to be and the style they implement. And yeah, while Floyd's defense is better, he's much more reluctant to open up. So for ya'll that say Oscar's face looked beat up, you have to open up to do that to him and it was obvious to me that everytime Forbes opened up save a few times, he was getting his ass kicked. I thought it was a straight foward ass kicking and only Forbes resolve kept him in the fight. Forbes is a hard man, but Oscar put on a great performance.
He didn't look that good ... he didn't do anything to impress me ... I was expecting a stoppage. He fought at a slow pace too ... a slower pace that i'm used to seeing him at. He was also fighting in spurts ...
Are you kidding? He used his jab almost the entire duration of the fight. The way he was doubling it up and keeping his hands in a position to block right hand retaliations was TEXTBOOK. He also looked faster and more fluid. And how are those spurts? When he wasn't on the inside firing off combinations he was using the jab to control the fight and set the pace. Oscar didn't fight Forbes fight, Forbes fought Oscar's fight and got his ass kicked in the process. I'm surprised that Forbes survived. You can't knock everyone out. ****, if you put it that way, Floyd didn't knock out Baldomir, and Baldomir isn't on Forbes level and was basically a sitting target. Shouldn't Floyd have knocked out Baldomir considering the similarities in at least the fact that neither he nor Forbes have ever been knocked down. Forbes proved he's hard as **** in this fight. I don't know what you were watching.
Same **** ive been saying this whole time..The way Oscar fought against Forbes it was the perfect style to beat up Floyd. Yes Oscar got hit a coupole of times but won the fight on points not going for the knockout and landing his jab. Was it boring? Yes but are Floyds fights exiting? No because Floyd is a technical and defensive genious. I think the Oscar May 2 fight is gonna be really close May will land alot more than Forbes, but May doesnt have the power to damage ODL just like forbes. UD 12 ODL
I almost agree Money does have enough power to keep oscar in check otherwise oscar would have run thru him right he walked towards forbes the whole time. I saw oscar whence and stop fighting alot against money the major difference between forbes and money is ring generalship once floyd gets command he doesn't give it back so when money does finally lose it will be by ko not a decision
Forbes 's heart is the size of his body thats why oscar didn't finish him If you believe you can't be hurt you won't be ask james toney how or glen johnson or margo for that fact
considering Oscar is past his prime and is a promoter of one of the most successful boxing promotion companies out there. He was decently better than how he did against PBF. However it's not enough to win the rematch.
He was fighting Steve Forbes. Everyone in the world shares an opinion, and of course, as always, you cant see the obvious. Good to see that after months away nothing changes.
What the **** is this supposed to even mean? Did I say that Oscar was going to beat Mayweather? No, I just said that the way he approached Forbes was much better than the way he approached Mayweather, and I believe he should utilize that approach for his fight against Mayweather. It was textbook. Not only that, but to me, he looked sharper and faster. So what's the obvious I didn't see?
