OF COURSE HE WOULD LOOK BETTER AGAINST STEVE FORBES.

    JESUS DUDE.

Forbes has NO POWER, best days are long past him, had to go on the contender to revive his career and to introduce himself to people like yourself, and he was outsized and outclassed.

This was obvious from the first minute this bout was announced and if it played out any way different than what you expected youre a fool.

Thats like putting Jermain Taylor in with Sergio Mora and then praising his performance.

OF COURSE HES GONNA LOOK BETTER.

And when is the last time you saw Oscar busted up like that? He looked like ****, his power at 150, which isnt even as low as 147 was pathetic. The old welterweight DLH would have stopped Forbes inside of 5.

And of course his stamina looked better. He didnt have to worry about getting knocked out or losing the bout since it was signed. Tension tires you out. So does missed punches. Two things he NEVER had to worry about.

The only way he should have been able to impress you is to knock Forbes out. Everyone with an ounce of boxing knowledge knew that DLH would outclass Forbes, so why praise him for it?

Look Guru, old school DLH is never gonna come back.

Fact is though, is that he looked faster, sharper, and better than the version of him at 154 that fought Mayweather.

Not only that, but he was using the jab more and he was more willing to GET busted up in order to WIN the fight.

Someone's gotta make the fight, and it ain't gonna be Mayweather.

So what are you trying to say again?

I understand prime DLH is never coming back. And complimenting him for looking good against Steve Forbes only fuels fire for a rematch that no one should want to see. DLH stands even less of a chance now at 147 than he did at 154.

You should have expected EVERYTHING that happened saturday to happen the minute this bout was signed. And if you consider a fighter of Oscar's caliber, even now, simply outpointing Steve Forbes as par, thats pathetic. Oscar and everyone in his team saw par as knocking Forbes out, and I'm sure saturday has shown them the light. He will end his career on his ass against either Cotto or Mayweather at this point. Especially after they both saw how little steam his punches had. It doesnt hurt that Floyd Sr. even **** on Oscar's power.

So, Mr. Funds, I'm saying that it was a sub-par performance, not only by Oscar's standards, by Floyd Sr.'s standards and by pretty much every boxing journalist not on GBP's payroll's standards. And lets not even get into the HBO team who probably all have buck teeth now from sucking Oscar off so profusely during the bout. That was shameless on their part.

    It was Steve Forbes.

I love it! I can't wait til september when PBF beats Oscar even worse than he did the first time. People here never learn and always buy into that he's in the best shape of his life or he looked like the Oscar of old.:-( What they don't realize is Forbes stood right in front of Oscar making it easy for him to find against PBF he won't have that luxury because PBF is lightyears ahead of Forbes in skill level. When he faces PBF he will get hit more than he did in the first fight and fade down the stretch like he always does except this time it will be even faster. And like clockwork I'll be here after the fight to remind all the dumbass doubters of PBF's superior skills and rub it in the faces of the Oscasexuals.:hi:

He did because he was more confident, more relaxed against a less challenging opponent.

I find it difficult believing he'd look as relaxed in a rematch with Floyd Mayweather. Floyd makes his opponents tense because they are attempting what is statistically impossible- defeating an undefeated, 1# P4P boxer (statistics don't say everything, but they can be telling).

Also, even if he was as relaxed in rematching Mayweather, he'd be hit ALOT more. Forbes slightly busted up his face- imagine what Mayweather's precise punching would do if De La Hoya imployed a similar style. :rosstheboss

Despite a disgusting display of cheerleading from HBO, Stevie Wonder could see that Oscar showed signs of a shot fighter over the weekend, an undersized washed up Forbes showed: he was actually quicker, evaded the vast majority of DLH's power shots upstairs and was actually landing the cleaner, harder shots early in the bout before Oscar's size and power led him to victory. 5yrs ago ODLH would have easily dismantled this level of comp. It doesn't matter wether he fights PBF or Cotto, both will trounce his ass at this point.

Oscar was getting hit pretty easily. Not good if he intends to fight Mayweather again. I see Mayweather stopping DLH this time around. He is going to tee off ol' Fishnets. It be a disgrace if the fight comes off.

Oscar didn't look good at all against Forbes ... he may have did somethings that he hasn't done in a while, but this guy only fights once a year and has had sub-par performances since he fought Vargas

the last 9 years ... his record is 7-5 ... what kinda record is that for a 9-time 6-division champion.

he's obviously on the down slide of his career ...

You can't say that Oscar wouldn't have stopped him a few years back ... his inconsistancies in training and focus on opponents has hurt him.

I can't see why everyone won't look past HBO's cheerleading, old, undersized Forbes who can't crack an egg busted up his face becuase he was tagging his ass.

True but Oscar never looked this bad against this level of comp.

I feel bad for Oscar because no matter who he fights and who he beats ... he will always look like a former shell of himself.
