Did you just call David Haye a real man? Seriously?

Not having this fight because of "weight" is a bitchmade excuse and disqualifies Floyd of being an ATG if he ever was. Many ATGs of the past fought with 20-30+ pd weight disadvantages and some still won. Holyfield and Joe Louis for instance. Didnt hear a huge outcry over Haye facing Valuev or Wlad. Haye greater than Floyd?

its not a bitchmade excuse if it affects a fighter's performance
154 seems a step too far for floyd against a very good fighter natural to that division, and canelo won't drop to 147 for an equally good reason - if not better

Bigger Canelo is less mobile he'll be. Floyd could counter and potshot getting an easy but credible win no problem. Plus with Canelo's conditioning and low workrate he wont be pressuring Floyd every chance he can. If anything Floyd should be pressed to take this fight actually more than Alvarez. Really the best opponent "money-wise" he could face at this point.

People make out that the 154lb weight class doesn't suite Floyd. It's not the weight class that's the problem, it was the fact that he fought a very good fighter in Cotto and a still semi decent ODH that was the problem.

it is the best opponent money-wise, and by a long way i should think
so with showtime under pressure re - floyd's PPV numbers, it'll be interesting to see if something can be hammered out

however, its way too dismissive to say that the bigger canelo is the easier he'll be to pot shot
at 154, floyd slows noticeably and isn't able to impose himself as he would like

i still don't think the fight will be made

oscar and cotto are blown up welters, canelo isn't
i cant see floyd fighting at 154 unless there are some strict stipulations for canelo

That's bs. Floyd has been a WW for 6 years now. It's obvious he is not a small WW or else he would have been able to make the weight against Marquez. Now all of the sudden he is to small to fight someone in a weight class he is a belt holder at. Damn, Roy Jones was so good in his day people, even when he was at SMW, kept talking about him fighting at HW. He eventually did, with no bs weight stipulation. Now poor little Floyd, who doesn't step on scales the night of his fights, is to small for a fighter in a weight division he holds a belt at. Give me a break.

of course floyd could have made the weight against marquez - it was his comeback fight and he forfeited $$ to have an advantage in the ring
marquez wasn't going to pull out

floyd may be a 'belt holder' at 154, but like i said, fighting blown up welters...
felix sturm was a 'belt holder', danny green was a 'belt holder' - don't credit alphabet titles when it suits

this fight - not the pac fight or any other floyd hasn't had - has a legitimate weight problem that's going to seriously jeopardize the fight

You make no sense. Why would any boxer pay money if they could make the weight? Mayweather has been at WW for 6 plus years now. This talk about him being small for the weight and trying to make out like him and Marquez were the same size and that Guerrero is really bigger then him is *****s grasping for straws. You can look throughout boxing history and see where the truly greatest fighters have challenged themselves against bigger opponents.

Cotto came from 140lbs, after an extensive amateur career.

Canelo is a full blown 154lbs'er who rehydrates to a massive 170lbs, and still looks good at the weight.

    Get real folks.
