After rewatching the fight I had it 6-6, but I can see it go either way, it was a close fight.

Had DLH been in shape he would have easily beat Sturm, no doubt.

 

Nah, Oscar took most of the early rounds with body work, and took atleast two of the latter rounds including the 12th.

6-6 is fair or 7-5 either way is fair.

 

I dont need to watch it again, but I remember thinking Oscar won a very close fight. Oscar looked smaller and weaker and was being bashed up in the last round.
A round should be scored from the full 3 minutes not just the last 30 seconds, which is something many tend to do.
I seem to remember having Oscar something like a point up, but cant remember exactly how I had it for sure.

Its like Hatton against Collazo, which was a close fight where Hatton was the smaller weaker fighter but worked hard enough to win and was being bashed up in the final round. Many at the time agree with the decision, but as the years roll on, many remember the main parts like the big last round and then say otherwise

Unlike many fighter e.g Pacquiao, Mosley, Trinidad who celebrated clear losses.

Hes not a bad fighter and has a decent MW resume

 

Same reason Oscar didn't give Whitaker his title back after Whitaker knocked him down, outlanded him, and made him miss all night.

Oscar put in a lot of work early, and a lot of work late. Sturm stole rounds by using his HUGE height and reach advantage by flicking a jab and shelling up.

Also, Sturm never wanted to engage, and that's fine, but FFS, Oscar was the smaller man, yet Oscar would Chase Sturm around the ring in the last minute of each round.

 

Hoya easily got out boxed by Sturm. I honestly don't know what some of you guys saw. I had it 9-3 for Sturm. I felt Hoya lost to Quartey and Whitaker also. Those were close fights though.

 

Whitaker outlanded Oscar, knocked him down, and made him look like a fool.
