Oscar is not dumb. 2014, 2015 Golovkin beats the life out of Canelo.

Can't blame him. Oscar has the only big draw in boxing these days in his stable. A prime Golovkin would shorten Canelo's prime by a good 3 or 4 years by administering a savage ass kicking. Filled with hard power bombs, crunching body shots and brain rattling shots to the head.

And that's just in addition to Canelo's reputation taking a hit.

Everybody knows this. But as time moves on Golovkin gets older. And as he gets older his boxing erodes. And Canelo being so young sees no erosion and perhaps only gets a little better.

And then we start to wonder maybe Canelo won't be sent sipping through a straw. Hell, if he waits long enough be may even win.

Oscar is doing the right thing for business. Wrong thing for boxing on a pure level.
Golovkin is going to be 35 years old in April! With his style, he's literally going to start slipping anytime soon.
Canelo is a stylistic threat to Golovkin, so it's going to be an interesting fight anyway.
Canelo-GGG is going to make more money if they stall it.
Mayweather fans are alarmingly silent in this situation, they only speak when they say 'GGG should accept this lowball offer and fight'.

I don't think that's much of a secret. Even the Canelo fans and resume riders know what's up.
Although I do believe that €15m isn't a lowball offer anymore, besides being still 9 months out...

Personally I thought originally Alvarez would win a close SD over GG as time goes by I favor Alvarez wider and wider.
Honestly everyone wants to claim duck when things don't go their guys way but honestly, I feel like if GGG at any point had been willing to bend he would have gotten the Canelo or Cotto fight already for that matter.

Even now when you here about the fight in the yr or 2 it's been talkd about the only person who has bent at all to make this fight is Canelo. Golovkin is too slow and doesnt have good enough defense to hang with Canelo

I think you forgot that Canelo vacated his title to duck Golovkin.

Yep I agree and no you can't blame Oscar at all as look at the money Canelo is now getting and for sure with Canelo now in his prime and Golovkin on a downward turn re his age then for Oscar and Canelo I'd say they've gotten it about right

Hard to believe Canelo is still only 26. If I was that age, with that resume, with that star power, with that bank balance, and feeling strong at 154 (or 155), then that's the weight I would be fighting at. If there's a guy feeling lonely at 160 without a dance partner, then that's his problem. I would be moving up when I'm good and ready.

golovkin is a great athlete, he looks after himself very well and his power is not going anywhere, he'll be on top for a few more years yet. look at what stevenson is doing at 39 years old, mid 30's is not that old anymore if your disciplined and stay in shape. its more of a problem for fighters who rely a lot on there speed but golovkin doesn't rely on speed...

155 and 160 are the same weight class. Vacate.

ggg vs canelo is the greatest fight in boxing that could even be made in DECADES, yes DECADES. Possibly many more DECADES.

Just wait, no matter when it's made we have the 2 best mw's that styles clash perfectly and both will give everything they got to win and win spectacularly.

I used to think the only fight was ggg v kovalev but kovalev proved to me that he's not on that level. Ggg v canelo is 2 elite fighters that do not accept LOSING and both go looking for a fight...

They will beat the **** out of each other, who will Crumble first or will they both crumble

I don't agree with the 155 rubbish, I'm with GGG on that one. But at the same time I can't blame Canelo for taking those fights. The promoters and the WBC are the ones to blame for even making it possible.

While I didn't like the move to vacate, everyone and there momma knew Alvarez has been said if GGG was willing to come down in weight they would of fought last year, if he insisted on 160 he'd have to wait.
At any point in the last 2 years if Golovkin would have been willing to concede something the fight would have been made.
Honestly everyone can say what they want about vacating but the only one between Canelo and GG who has been willing to bend to make the fight is and has been Alvarez.
You can't name one thing GG has done to facilitate this fight but Alvarez has with weight and money.
And before you bring up a title, the belt isn't more important than the fight.
