Williams did beat Margo

 

not a DLH fan but...why would you want him to fight a prime fighter that could obviously beat him? Margo wont get the credit he deserves if they did fight. Prime Margo being the same weight as Shot DLH is only beneficial to Margo or any fighter that is equal to DLH's size. If you guys want him to fight Margo just so Margo can collect his biggest paycheck, then that i will understand.

 

De La Hoya even bringing Williams into the discussion regarding Margarito is extremely gutless. Alot of people would pick Quintana over Williams in a third fight, yeah, the best Welterweight... Uh huh.. Sure. That's way more than disputed. Oscar should read his own magazine, Margarito is the #1 rated in the division.

Against Trinidad, Oscar still ran three rounds to avoid risking getting ko'd and lost by decision. Again, he avoided the risks.
But I will acknowledge Oscar did take on those challenges at that time, however, those days are gone and he should admit it. Not to mention,

We are talking about two different versions of Oscar here. There is the fighter and the promoter. The OScar that this thread is about and that most are criticizing is the promoter. The fighter has been dormant and tucked away in his closet for a long time. The promoter, on the other hand, is the one that comes out with a new fighter each day as a potential next bout to cause a supposed "buzz" in the boxing world.

Remember, he supposedly wanted the winner of Cotto/Margarito. He also promised Margarito a fight if he ever became champion. This is not to mention he also wanted a fight with Ricky Hatton. Then, a possibility against Sergio Mora (against who?), but yet Margarito no, no. Then he had said that he didn't want to fight AM after he defeated Cotto, because he didnt want to end his career fighting another Mexican. That tune was then changed to saying that it was disrespectful to Paul Williams to call Margarito the best welterweight, and that he felt that Margarito still has some unfinished business with Paul Williams. But yet, he just calls out Paul Williams on Telefutura, stating he wants to fight the best welterweight? He doesn't want to disrespect Williams, but its ok to disrespect Margarito? Make up your mind DLH.

 

The reason he is terrified of Margarito is simple. Can anyone put a photo up of Cotto's bloodied face after the Margarito fight?

If DLH feels too old to fight then retire, but if he wants to fight, he shouldn't insult boxing fans with this Barnum and Bailey bull****.

Fighting these guys does NOT mean he isn't scared to face Margarito. No way. The situation and DLH's comments up to the fight and after, are what make him look scared of Margarito.

it just shows why the welterweight division is the best DLH has become a smart businessman... he wants to go out with a win... margarito, williams, or even cotto are a big threat to this... something is telling me DLH is already thinking of fighting in the future, even after his propose retirement in December... a devastating loss against any of these guys could hurt his image esp. if he wants to return after his long vacation which I would call instead of retirement...
