Interesting matchup, as we have two guys about the same size with iron chins fighting a similar style. However, since Bonavena carries a bigger punch, and produces more activity on average than Godoy, then I would say that Ringo would outwork Godoy to a UD. And Luigi, this has nothing to do with Ali vs. Louis, because I know that that is the first thing you will say after reading this.

Oscar Bonavena UD 12 Arturo Godoy:good

A more serious answer: While Godoy is the better fighter of the two, he may play into Bonavena's main strengths--roughness and punching power. Much of this match depends upon which of the two fighters was physically stronger and could push the other around.

I give Godoy the edge. He went 15 the first time with Louis and put up a decent fight. If he could give Louis trouble, then Bonavena would seem like a warm up.

So, I can say if Bonavena went 25 with Frazier, then Godoy would seem like a warm up.:good

I like Oscar in a rough, tough fight, on points.

For his audacity in that first Louis fight, Godoy paid the price and was strafed, pounded, and ultimately destroyed in the rematch....Bonavena, for his audacity in that first bout with Frazier, decking Joe twice, and almost ending it in the 2nd round, ....went 15 rounds with Joe in their rematch, never came close to going down or getting stopped, and actually finished stronger than Frazier. something he also did in that first fight.
Oscar was a better fighter than Godoy,..stronger, a better puncher, and in his own admittedly clumsy way, was cleverer, tougher and was more adaptable than Arturo Godoy.
Ringo would have soundly beaten Goday on points.
