I agree with you, but you only want him to be brave enough to fight the 2nd best WW right now, not the first.

Hoya is damn near 36. He's a part time fighter looking to go out with a win in a big fight. He hasn't fought at WW in like 7 years. Therefore, he has no obligation to fight any WW. He's definately cherry picking, but that's what many fighters in his position do. The exception, of course, is Hopkins. Hopkins is a rare breed. He'll fight anyone. Including Pavilk, he'll have been the underdog in his last 4 fights.

Yes he's hot...are you going to deny that? So why wouldn't DLH try to make a fight w/ someone hot? Look, you're obviously arguing for the same of arguing, so you're more a waste of time.

WHO gives a **** if DLH says he has unfinished business w/ Williams? Is this obvious attempt to distract from his own issues really working with you? I find it hard to believe any intelligent posters cannot see through DLH's smoke screen. Well, he fooled you though. I guess he didn't think Forbes or Pacquiao had any uninished business huh?

You can say Margarito is duckin Williams. Who cares. It's meaningless when a poster like you says that. It's like Bigtime9 saying Floyd is the best ever.

Margarito will fight Williams, that's a 100% guarantee. Might not be his very next fight, but he WILL fight him. I assume you'll pollute and troll this board with DUCKIN comments until it happens....

No he doesn't. But he was willing to fight @ 147 for Pac, and willing to face the winner of Margarito - Cotto. We all know the circumstances, but please don't come to DLH's defense Reg. He has enough fanboys to do that for him.

If DLH gets called a ***** for his actions of recent, then he can deal with it.

...sorry to have wasted your time with the truth...I'm not that big of a Williams fan, but it's very clear Margo doesn't want any...Paul says he offered him a rematch before they left the ring.

What DLH did does work. They are both avoiding the best competition. His point about Williams illustrates that.

I'm not defending Hoya, I'm defending common sense. Hoya is at the end of his career and he's clearly doin some cherry picking so that he can retire with a win in a big fight. He's in a position to fight whoever he wants. It's hard to criticise him for not fighting Margo when he and Margo don't even fight in the same division.

This whole situation is interesting to me. I see so many people on this site talking about how fighters need to fight the best, and how fans should be worried about the best fights being made and not about what fighters are pulling in dollar wise. There's a lot of good fights to be made at WW. Hoya is not a Welter and is on his way out anyway. If he turns down Margo, Margo can concentrate on fighting the best fighters available. A fight with Oscar is simply a money fight. I would think, given the position many posters claim to have, they would be happy with Margo fighting top Welters instead of pointless money fights against aging vets.

Now don't get it twisted, I have no problem with Margo going after Hoya. I would have no problem with them fighting eachother. At the same time, I have no problem with Hoya deciding he doesn't want to fight Margo. The problem I have is with the posters who claim that they're real fans who don't care about how much money fighters make, and only care about fighters fighting the best; only to turn around and advocate Margo fighting a non factor in the WW division strictly for monetary reasons.

Fight Margarito or retire. He doesn't want Margarito for some reason. I think he knows he will get his ass kicked in his last fight if he fought him.

That may be the case. If that is true, why would he fight his last fight against a guy he doesn't think he can beat? Given all that he's accomplished, and given his age, it's a fight that he doesn't need to take.

Grow some balls? Does the rest of his career not count now?! He can do what the **** he wants as far as I'm concerned, he has earnt it by being punched in the face for over 16 years against an array of world class competition.

At least he will gain the respect of people for going after a beast like Margarito.

Both Cotto and margirito would beat the **** out of DLH. I don't blame him for not wanting to fight them, let him retire in piece.

Hey, leave Oscar alone. The guy is middle aged for a fighter for goodness sakes. Cut him some slack. We are talking about a guy here who fought the who's who of many weight divisions, including middleweight, a division he had no business fighting in but took the risk. We are talking about a guy who barely lost to Floyd (if you believe he did) and was willing to fight him again. I say let him fight whoever the hell he wants because any champion is going to give him a competitive fight at his age and stage of his career.

Yup and I'm one of them. How can you not think Paul The Punisher Williams is exciting? He's a 6'1 south paw welter, with a chin, who throws 100 punches a round, and possesses good power. :huh That said ODH isn't fighting him or Margarito. :nono

Cotto's the choice! At least for me. :thumbsup
